Those universities have only had recent periods of success. Rice is the only consistent baseball power in CUSA. If the AAC takes Rice then CUSA has no one that can pound their chest about baseball. That's the fact Jack!!!

I hate to agree with a CUSA fan, but FAU and FIU have tradition dating back further than just recently. FAU has been in the tournament 10 times and FIU 9 times. I was incredibly sad to see them leave the conference because of just that.

I think Troy and USA will bounce back next year... It was expected after everyone good got drafted or graduated last year. Even our coach told everyone to be ready for a young team. And be patient

Troll alert. Thought you were a basketball school and you didn't make the postseason. Ergo you aren't a basketball school by your logic.

This was more of a response of a few posters who were basically saying the Sun Belt was more of a baseball/softball conf. and those sports should be move valued than basketball....

As far as troll, last time I checked WKU was still in the Sun Belt genius.... Lets see we have been in conf. for 34 years, and your school has been in the Sun Belt for how many years now? I can post whenever I want as a Sun Belt member school who is still in the Sun Belt...

Where is FAU and FIU on this list? Rice has 7 appearances in the CWS and one national championship in baseball. If you want to compare NCAA regional appearances it could be an even worse comparison. I stand by my prior posts.

This team (as last year) didn't have the sense of need to not let off while sitting in 3rd; like past teams. Those guys (Atwood, McVaney, Sibley, et al)* never let off the gas until the last out in the conference tournament (or in Regionals). Not sure if it is the team or the coaching staff but someone needs to kick their butts.

When they* lost in the 2012 tourney they were devastated. I don't see this team having that kind of dedication.

CatMom speaking of uniforms I watched the TAMU softball game yesterday and they had the same Astros uniforms as y'all do. Didn't work for them either.

I saw that too. Almost choked on my soda. Yup, just as ugly and affirming of the potential to lose in them.

While the Cajuns will be young next year, I would be surprised if we fall off like Troy or South Al has this season. This incoming class is the best class we have ever signed.

Nine one-run losses will do that.

Rice is the kind of team that considers not going to the CWS as a failure for the season. You are going to find out soon about them. Their coach has been there forever. They have won the national championship and made multiple CWS appearances. Their success has been recent and past.

He HAS indeed been there forever. Therefore I predict he will not be there long. Now playing in a league like CUSA currently is, not getting the RPI help he needs. I would be surprised to see him go another two seasons.
