Baseball attendance
I know UTA isn't going to be the top draw in the conference when it comes to baseball, but I was wondering where the rest of the conference is. Can you guys give your baseball attendance average and top five games this season?
UTA - 348 with one game left
Oklahoma St - 828
Baylor - 660
UL-L - 612
TCU - 609
UL-L - 563
Also two "neutral" site games at the Texas Rangers home field.
Oklahoma - 1,858
Texas A&M - 1,650

RE: Baseball attendance
For the Cajuns I came up with a total home attnedence of 109998 for 29 games.
Average home game attedence of 3793 up to today
That ranks us about 10th in attendence for baseball.

I didn't do the numbers but USA's is probably about the same. No games below 1000 with the highest around 1400-1500. The USM game didn't have the attendance listed but it could have been the highest.

RE: Baseball attendance
UL is clearly the leader in attendance for baseball year in and out, we're always top 25 regardless of record, and this season we're top 10 because of just how good we're doing. After that, USA, Troy, Tx State, and (despite poor attendance for Football and Basketball) ULM draws well. Now I'm not talking at the rate the cajuns do, but 1,200-1,500 a game on the weekends is more the norm (on regular seasons) than the exception.

RE: Baseball attendance
UTA finished at 352 for the season after today's 452 attendance.
After this offseason's renovation of Clay Gould Ballpark, UTA will have a nice stadium, as there will finally be a clubhouse for the players and coaches, as well as increased fan amenities. However, I really hate the location and feel that if it were closer to the main campus, there would be higher attendance. It is so far removed from campus and the main-traveled roads that unless you know what you are looking for, most UTA students never have seen the place.

with the renovations to our baseball/softball complex and conference stability, I bet we do a few hundred better average next year. if we can get in the 6-7 hundred range that would be a good step for us.

RE: Baseball attendance
I doubt the latest round of renovations at Clay Gould Ballpark will have any impact on attendance. It is just too far removed from the main campus and off any main travel corridors within the U.
What the renovations should do is position the program to recruit better, as both it and the softball renovations are heavy on increasing player amenities and development.

Nice to see TXST at almost 45k during an up and down year, would love to see it if we were good all the way through.

RE: Baseball attendance
Just looked something up.
Total attendance for the year comparison
Football - 129878
Baseball - 122193
Factoring in our Regional, I'll venture to say that when all is said and done, we will have a higher total attendance in baseball than we did in football. That is pretty freaking incredible.

Only 5 home games in football last year! If we had an even 6, the total would be easily over 150K. We do have 6 home games this year. We could approach 200K for the season given our first two should average over 40K each.

I know, even with just 5 games though, it's still an amazing feat because of the difference in popularity of the 2 sports. And I agree for football, we should break our attendance record next year...unfortunately without this cajun fan in attendance.

Big for ASU to hit the 500 average mark this year. Really could have gotten a few more with better weather, and more consistent play at the end of the year...but its a good starting point.
