SBC moved to Thursday-Saturday last week of the season a few years ago. Gives teams more time to prepare for the tournament.

UTA-TXST playing what a rivalry game is about. After taking a 8-0 lead, TXST has brought it back to 8-5 in T7.

Troy takes game 1 from South 6-5. It was a great game and looking forward to some great baseball the next two nights!

The Cajuns beat ULM 12-9 in game 1

UL isn't pitching their normal weekend rotation. Although, Baranik is slated to start tomorrows game, he won't pitch very long

UALR beats ASU 5-2. They cheated and threw a lefty.

Someone told me this morning that the Cajuns current 7 game lead in the conference matches the largest in history. Can anyone confirm this?

Louisiana won the 2007 regular season title by 7 games. I didn't see any other team that won by 7 games looking the at the SB-C media guide on their website.

Also to note: Charles Henderson High School in Troy won the State title in Baseball tonight. Getting a couple good kids from that program.

With WKUs win over Ga State, Troy clinched a spot in next weeks tourney.

Cajuns beat ULM 9-1 in game 2 to win the series.

In case you're interested, the UL softball team won their opening round game in the 6th national seeded Lafayette regional against Texas Southern 7-4 and will now face Texas who beat Mississippi St.

ASU puts up another listless uninspired performance and loses to UALR 4-2. We've got a nasty habit of that.

Georgia State is officially eliminated from SBC Tourney contention with today's results. 1 back of UALR and ULM and both own the tiebreak with GSU.

6. Troy has clinched a Tourney berth. Will finish 6th with a win. Could finish as low as 8 with a loss.

ULM: Clinches tourney berth with win OR a loss by USA or UALR.
UALR: Clinches tourney berth with a win OR USA loss.
USA: Clinches tourney berth with a win AND a loss by ULM or UALR.


UALR and ULM could both still finish as high as 6th. USA can finish no better than 7th.

Attended the UTA-TXST game tonight. What a fun one to take the family. A 1-0 win with a play at the plate in T8 to keep it scoreless and a 2 out base hit in B8 to take the lead.

If you we one of the TXST fans in attendance, all I have to say is left, right, left, right....

Frustrating last five games for GSU. That Saturday loss where we gave up the 5-2 lead on ULM seems to have broken our back. After we won that first game against ULM I would have bet the farm we would make the tournament with the way the schedule broke for us.

Have to hope for some development in the pitching staff. We haven't had our #1 starter since the third week of the season because of an injury. And we signed two of the top 50 players in Georgia this year that should both be immediately plugged into the lineup. Just disappointing to lose the last four where just one more win would have kept us alive.

UTA beats TXST to finish a sweep. At 19-11, they finish as SBC runner-ups in their first year of conference play.

How embarrassing, what a meltdown to finish the season...
