Annual Payout per AAC Team
I have seen some numbers tossed around but what can each University expect per year on average after conference payout, licensing, etc? $3, $4, $5, $6 Million?

This data runs through 2012 but is pretty cool. Click on your school to see your athletic departments revenue growth.

I suspect the AAC schools would be in the Top 15-20 of the G5.

Actually 7 AAC teams made the top 20 of the G5 in revenue. Following the top 10 of the G5 in order were, Houston at 12th and ECU at 13th. Most of the other top 20 were MWC teams and a few surprises like Old Dominion at 14th. 04-cheers

If you pull up each University you can also look at expenses versus revenue to determine who made a profit. ECU made a profit.

So with the share of the CFP plus our media deal, etc I am assuming it will come to about $6 million per team this year. Is this accurate?

Outside of Uconn, usf, and Cincy wouldn't the payout essentially be the same?

Something like that. The BE leftovers get around $30M, I believe.

Incorrect, UC, USF, CONN, get 20 each over 5 years or 4 million, the rest of us split the other 40 over 5 years or 1 million a year.

So base is,

UC, USF, UCONN get 4+2+1=7 million each

The rest of US get 2+1+1=4 million each

Doesn't include Bowl pay outs, NCAA credits, other conference pay outs.

Cincy in Military: $1 million

East Carolina in Birmingham: $900,000

Miami is TBA

Anyone know if these amounts are being distributed evenly, amongst bowl eligble teams only, on a weighted scale favoring those playing in the bowls, or not and kept solely by the bowl team who earned it?

Based on what I've understood in the past, bowl payouts are always distributed amongst the conference in some fashion. I would imagine that it isn't going to be an even scale and would indeed favor the teams that played in bowls.

Not sure how the conference handles the actual numbers though.

TV, Split, CFP $$$ is what I used to come up with the base. So either 7 million or 4 million base. Adding in other monies NCAA credits and Bowl money, etc. For OBE members your looking at 8-9 million and NBE members 5-6 million.

Either way far above the rest of the G5, MWC at 3.6-4 million total pay out, CUSA 2.49 total payout, MAC and SBC at 2 million.

And, I still say our contract goes up by 2018 to atleast 4-5 million per team, to where everyone is at 8-9 million total payout per year. CUSA looks to going down to SBC/MAC levels when their deal is redone and MWC just did theirs and the MAC/SBC deals are new(ER). Our ratings haven't been Cartel level, but as a conference far better than the other non Cartel conferences.

Now that I think about it, that has to include the Big East payout for such a jump.
