UConn beefing up its OOC even more
http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketba...um=twitter
Duke in the Meadowlands.
So far, UConn has:
@ Stanford
@ Florida
Texas
Duke (New Jersey)
Matchups with 2 of 3 of Dayton, West Virginia and New Mexico (all 3 will hover around the 20-35 rankings next year.
That's 6 solid games, and maybe Harvard as well (since UConn has been playing them every year lately).

Nice, not a huge fan of the Izod Center though. The Rock or Barclays would have been nice.

Excellent OOC so far by Warde. UCONN gonna need this to offset the SOS playing some of the teams in the AAC. Hopefully, all the teams in the AAC improve their SOS and beat some OOC opponents.
I hope both Boatright and Daniels return. If not, UCONN should still be loaded with Hamiltion, Cassell Jr, Lubin, and Purvis coming in.

Meadowlands had a better bid I guess. MSG would have been best.

SMU is trying. Have games with Arkansas, @ Indiana (exempt tournament), TCU (SMU's crosstown rival), @Gonzaga, and rumor @ North Carolina St.

SMU has a nice roster for next year. I seriously hope you guys load up on the OOC and play some big boys. I think SMU needs to schedule more tougher teams than the ones above. Zags will be good. Indiana should be decent. NCST I am not sure. TCU is bad. Arkansas should be ok. Can SMU get someone like UNC, MSU or KY on the calendar?

Don't think Larry Brown will schedule his alma mater (UNC) for a regular season game. He also won't schedule certain schools because of close ties. . . Kentucky(Calipari), Colorado(Boyle), Maryland(Turgeon), Kansas(Self). . . If SMU-UConn weren't conference mates. I doubt Larry would schedule UConn, because of his close association to Kevin Ollie.

I wish yall would schedule and beat unc. Lebo also played for the heels..when we were down by four with only a minute or two to go I know he wanted it. I guess the difference is that it would've been a huge achievements for lebo, not as much for brown. He did leave his mark though, most 2nd half points scored in the dean dome.

RE: UConn beefing up its OOC even more
We played Duke at Izod a few years ago and it was pretty bad. The best part was that they were running ads for Duke's Bowl Game on the screen during the game. Other than being inappropriate for a neutral site game, I dont think anyone other than the 30 Duke alumni association people in front of us gave a crap.

Duke takes two separate trips to the NYC area each year, most of the time they choose separate locations. Duke is already slated to play at Barclays which is why I think they settled on Izod.

What UCONN needs to be doing if they EVER hope for a call-up to the P5 is not double down on what they already know is elite and IMPROVE their damn football program!

That's a strong OOC schedule.
The Bearcats will play at North Carolina State and at Nebraska after playing both schools at home this season. They will play home games against Virginia Commonwealth and San Diego State and the annual Crosstown Classic against Xavier at a site still to be determined.
UC will play in the Emerald Coast Classic on Thanksgiving weekend in Niceville, Fla., facing Middle Tennessee State in the first game and then either Creighton or Mississippi in the second. The Bearcats will also play home games against Morehead State, Eastern Illinois and North Carolina Central.
Not too bad for UC.

We need to double down on basketball to make sure that our RPI is solid. Just because our football still needs some improvement, it doesn't mean that we should stop focusing on basketball and stop scheduling other top teams like Duke. UConn's athletic department is able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

RE: UConn beefing up its OOC even more
Credit to UConn for loading up OOC, it will only make the team stronger come conference play. It’s something all the conference members need to do. I may head over to the IZOD center for the game, it should be a good one. Any word if the game will be part of a double header? In the past games like this had a lesser game before it like a St Peters vs Rider type match up.
Two seasons ago Temple played Duke at the IZOD Center as the neutral site part of a home, home, neutral agreement. It was pretty much a Duke home game but I expect the UConn fans to make it closer to a 50/50 split.
