Hunter on Hollowell:

Quote:“When you want to be one of the better teams, you have to have (some) guys who can be players of the year,” Hunter said describing Hollowell’s potential.

And yet, no GSU player or coach straight up said that ULL was the better than them.

simple questions. will the huckster practice cutting down nets at next year's tourney?

will the huckster let the tv people know he practiced it? will harrow and his pops be feelgood story again only to end up with both sobbing? will curtis finally beat the crap out of a teammate?

will the panthers run the table equalling what the new orleans privateers did?

i'll have my hands full following a new conference but i'll be following the huckster. he's must see t.v.

Hmm short memory there aye. I remember you guys sobbing a bit last year as well. Can I ask this question of you who wouldn't show some emotion after what the guy went through.

No need to worry about us. We will win the Sunbelt tournament sooner rather than later.

This thread is pathetic.

I'm hearing some butthurt fans who are pissed off they can't gloat because they had a bad basketball team (especially compared to GSU's) and because they can't gloat, they want to try to bring everyone down with them.

Stupid thread, stupid statements. GSU fans, we had an awesome season, and the trolls can go cry their way to CUSA while acting like class clowns. Good job there.

this thread WAS NOT pathetic until the queen of butthurt...panama....started one of his classic tantrums.

my original comment was 99% complimentary of georgia state and ron hunter. then panama started throwing a fit in a nana-booboo fashion. you know he has nothing when he goes to that mode.

i'm quoting my original below. so the thread WAS fine. show me where anyone was running down ga state.

just let it die. don't reply to this.

(04-23-2014 09:35 AM)dahbeed Wrote:  i've stated repeatedly that as long as the huckster is in atlanta they'll be good. very good. it just depends on how long they can keep him and that's no reflection on them at all. it's the way it is.

he's probably known this kid since he was in jr. high since he's from indy.

if he gets the acc/sec table scraps out of atlanta and then brings in top players that don't make it at higher level schools he'll amass talent the rest of the sunbelt will have a hard time competing against.

but.....nobody will just give them the crown. cajuns won't just crown 'em. red woofs won't just crown 'em. as they found out this year, they have to win the tourney to go to the ncaa. not always as easy as it is to win regular season games.

but hunter's gotta be turning heads in some bcs conference schools. i figure he'll at least stay until jr. leaves which could be as early as next year. someone will throw money at him.

Don't call our coach a huckster. Lololololololololololol. That was the butthurt? How? See butthurt is being picked to win the conference and telling us how we were going to walk knock kneed into Diddle for 6 months and then getting vaporized TWICE and then trying to win Louisiana's argument because there is no WKU argument. LOL.

RE: CBSSports: Jeremy Hollowell Commits to Georgia State
as good as a season ga state had this year....and they had a wonderful one....my final memory of them will be with players sobbing. especially harrow and his dad with their made for tv backstory that everyone got tired of hearing. at least i did.

i can't explain how rich it was to see the look of cluelessness on the huckster's face as the lead evaporated. all he had to do was let harrow keep attacking. nobody on the cajuns could stop him. but coach huckster got cute. thought he could milk 8 points for 5 minutes. let the cajuns ROLL THE BALL to the 3 point line with no time expiring. TWICE.

actually i'm wrong. my final memory was watching the look of awe on the ga state player's faces every time they drove and clemson rejected their shots. then more crying. when did it become okay for young men to cry on tv? over a basketball game?

on a closing note....will you build a football team this decade? the toppers easiest conference game was in the dome. your players were on their knees from the second quarter on. i kept hearing how much you guys had improved and what great things your new coach was doing but it sure wasn't evident against us. you looked like the same old same old to me. now i know you guys don't really care about football but you need to have a good football team to be a total program.

Recent success gone to your head. I'll ask you this though what did WKU do last year that is the same as 0-12 GSU. You sat you ass home last year just as the four year old program did. Give it a rest dude. Poor ole benson couldn't even buy you guys a extra game. Congrats you beat a team that had serious roster mismanagement that went 1-11 the year before.

RE: CBSSports: Jeremy Hollowell Commits to Georgia State
A few things...

1. Clemson was a possession away from beating Duke in the ACC tourney and made it to NY in the NIT. They are far from a bad team. Furthermore, asking a team to lose the way they did and tun around and play at an ACC school 48 hours later is a very tall task. Zero shame in that loss.

2. Hunter never said the 2011-2012 team was his best ever. He said this one was his most talented at the beginning of he season, but still wouldn't go as far as saying it was his best team. As for not making the NCAA tourney a measuring stick of being better, that's pretty moronic. The SBC > the summit. However, GSU did not really have a marquee win. I will give you that.

3. Transfers can be a gamble for sure. CRH has a much better track record than his predecessor, Rod Barnes. I am confident Ware and Hollowell will work out just fine. CRH has known Hollowell since be and RJ were in the 3rd grade. He will know how to get the best out of him. Ware's length and athleticism will make him an elite guard in this conference. And the two freshmen were both all-state selections.

4. I am disappointed WKU is leaving the league. CRH said they brought out the best in us. Clearly because of those two beatings they took out behind the woodshed. Good luck n CUSA, Y'all come back now if you ever wanna try again.

RE: CBSSports: Jeremy Hollowell Commits to Georgia State
Coach Hunter talking about Jeremy Hollowell's performance in practice so far. Jeremy will have to sit out this year. But, this is what he is saying.

Quote:"CH: Tell me more about Jeremy Hollowell. I know you had known him well from back in Indiana but how has he looked in workouts so far?

CRH: I am going to say this and no one loves R.J. and Ryan more than I do. But Jeremy Hollowell is the best talent in our program. And it's not really close, not even R.J. He is a stud. I think our players would tell you that. He might be the best player I have ever coached. This kid is a flat-out stud. I knew that when he was younger but he's playing freer now. If you walked in our practice and didn't know anything about our team you would look at him and say, "Wow. He must be the best player on the team." Georgia State is really fortunate to have a player like him. He is just a very talented guy."http://georgiastate.247sports.com/Article/Georgia-State-Basketball-QA-with-Ron-Hunter--29357078
