BYU, Army, AFA, BSU

I like having all the military academies in one conference, and AFA, BYU, AND BSU would make a western expansion pod, along with a Tulsa or Houston.

That being said, I prefer we stay at 12 teams until the TV contract renegotiations are in process, and test the payouts each expansion school could add to our contract with this 16 team scenario.

If it doesn't matter anymore about having 12 teams....why should we go to 16??? I don't even know why we should stay at 12 honestly.

Go down to 10 after 3 years so everyone has a fair chance, not one and done. What ever network wants to triple our current contract can pick which 10....Democracy at it's finest....Merrrrrican.

Each team plays the other 9 teams, so a 9 game conference schedule with 3 OOC games and a conference Championship played at the #1 rated teams field (18 game home and home for basketball). No more UCF not playing Cincy bs. If certain of these 10 don't have programs - Temple baseball or if Navy only joins football, we could fill in with schools that are good at that sport such as Wichita State, UMASS, etc.

Currently we don't have 12 money making Markets/Teams and adding more teams in that boat wouldn't make sense.

NCAA rules require a conference to have at least 12 teams before staging a conference championship game. Teams must also play each opponent in its division. Beginning in 2014, the ACC and Big Ten will join the SEC in having seven-team divisions in football (14 teams total). In addition, most TV contracts pay extra for a conference championship game. That's why.

Personally. SDSU over BSU. They left on good terms, and they have a much higher ceiling (all sports) than Boise. If I had my way, a western expansion would exclude Boise, and include Fresno, SDSU, UNLV + BYU

Today....yes....but you do realize that the ACC and Big 12 are pushing for conference championship deregulation. If that passes, nothing of what you brought up is valid. Considering this thread is a "fantasy" draft of new teams....I think it is valid to bring up the reciprocal occurance.

I'd have strong feelings for BYU and Southern Miss.

I'd be against anyone not having FBS football already.

I'd be against partials.

After that, I'm not sure where I would go. I'd probably go west for two more selections between UNLV, Fresno State, SDSU, and Colorado State.

IMO, SMU, Houston are the western most and therefore my top pick of BYU would fit. UNLV still has a good basketball brand but Fresno State has good football and baseball.

Yes, I am well aware of what the BIG XII wants. Doesn't mean they will get it. The NCAA moves at a snails pace. After all look how long it took them to approve unlimited snacks and food at the training table for student athletes. So, 12 teams it is, likely for quite a while.

B-12 has promblems going to 12, I don't see ISU, KU, or KSU wanting to be separated from Tex & Okla schools

Well...You guys pretty much know how I feel on this one if the AAC goes West (which I hope they do AND think they will eventually do)...

San Diego State

along with 3 out of the following group...

-Fresno State (still the best in the West in every way Athletically other than SDSU)

-Boise State (ok, but what do they bring to the table when they aren't winning 9/10 games a year?)

-New Mexico? (a stretch to me, but good basketball and plenty of upside with football)

-UNLV (the best school in the West with upside in football, great destination city and good basketball)

-BYU (Bring them in but buyer beware...Google "Chad Bunn Controversy")
