Great school with a great academic reputation.

Private school with terrible academics and excellent basketball.

Rice is probably the school I admire most other than my own. People talk about "peers" and throw names out there, but I don't think Rice has any real peers.

It's awesome with red beans and sausage.

Stout baseball program.

Basketball, for the most part, sucks.

Not knowing the "way back history" of Rice I have to wonder how they got to have such a big stadium at some point yet now can barely draw flies to games. That said, I think CUSA membership has allowed them to slowly get the football program back up to winning seasons and bowl game expectations.

I remember back in '09 in the first round of the C-USA basketball tourney, Marshall was matched up against Rice. It was the very first game of the tourney and I was knew Marshall would crush the tenth seed Rice. Rice ended up winning 60-59. I will never overlook Rice again.

Spanish rice and that clumpy white Asian style rice are my favorites.
