I've been roaming around the various boards of the five conferences and have seen a LOT of animosity toward the AAC from all the others. I don't even understand the MAC disdain. Its not just the Big East.

folks naturally don't like the top dog.

It's just like in the P5 how folks despise the SEC.

Everyone in the G5 hates being in the G5. It just breeds a lot of bad feelings and animosity in general. It sucks and isn't healthy but it is what it is, I suppose.

Ah... let them be mad. They weren't invited to the AAC for various reasons. Let them take it up with their university administration.

Why would this be surprising? Nearly every AAC fan has made it clear they want nothing to do with any of the other G5 conferences so why exactly should they like us?

everyone wants to believe they are the best G5 or close, so it honestly natural to talk the opposition down, c-usa, sunbelt and the mac all say they a barely just a notch under mwc/aac and they are they 3rd best and the other 2 are horrible

we are pinned against each other in the new system, competition will only arise from it, if for some reason we had a 16 team playoff (which i think will never happen) and all g5 champs got an autobid (which will definitely never happen). and their is a spot of all of us i think everyone in the g5 would be rooting for each other to topple the system, right now we are pinned against each other

In the BCS system I pulled for every non BCS school to knock off their BCS opponent. Now?? No way San Jose. The Fresnos and Boise of the world are now in direct competition for the access bowl with the AAC. So I don't like 'em and their "easy" schedules. GO AMERICAN , The Power of ONE.

Agree. I only root for UCONN and the AAC now. No one else.

I root for two teams. UH and anyone in the AAC not playing us......

The ONLY reason ecwho was invited up, was a desperate need to backfill a conference that had most of it's members pilaged by the big boy leagues. Try to keep things in perspective. It is called pure dumb luck. Be grateful. LOL!

AAC doesn't show animosity towards any G5 conf. But yet all the other G5 conferences show animosity towards AAC. What does that tell you. I really don't care what CUSA, SB, etc. is doing.

The G5 is full of miserable people. We are somehow lesser people because we cheer for schools not in the P5. 2nd class citizens.

I think the g4's animosity comes from the same place that the p5's condesending comments come from. The AAC's outstsanding 1st year left those above and below us scratching their collective heads. The AAC really shook up college sports and pre conceived notions of exactly who and what the American is. A g5? Or a p5 kinda? The g4 are scared at how much distance we put between us and them and the p5's are scared that we maybe a viable entity, thus I think this hate by the g4 is proof of our tweener status which is a very fast step in the right direction
