Blowing 2 games in the 9th against USM felt like a giant kick in the groin. The Blazers' weekend series against Rice will go a long way in determining if the Owls win their 19th (18th?) consecutive regular season or tournament championship.

ECU losing the series to ODU is going to make it pretty tough to get an at large bid. Probably can't lose another series the rest of the season.

If it makes you feel better, allowing us to win only contributes to Scott Berry keeping his job and bleeding our program out.

Eagles lose to Ellishoe 11-5 last night. We got blasted by a lineup that doesn't hit well and shut down in the final five innings by a pitching staff throwing by committee. We committed our customary two errors.

Eagles now hitting a salty .242 for the year and currently rank below 250th nationally in both hitting and fielding.

Final score was 13-5. Pitching and fielding were both equally bad last night.

Final score was 13-5.

It doesn't matter.

Heard there were a couple grounders that could have been called errors.

And we welcome the Road Runners to the Bud. Of course, we do hope you go home a little less happy than you arrive.

04-cheers

Hey Aggie that may never happen you know they would most likely hit VaBeach and drown the sadness in atlantic and be homebound happy.Expecting a good series and no more additions in the loss column.

Hoffman had it all working tonight. Strikes out 16 in 8 shutout innings. ECU blanks MTSU 1 zip. final out in the 9th comes as MTSU runner tries to score from 2nd on a single to right field but Ian Townsend guns him home at the plate for the final out. tag was high...around the neck area.....some MTSU players didn't like that too much and did some finger pointing.

also ...Theo Epstein from the Cubs and Kenny Williams from the white Sox were both in attendance to watch Hoffman. A slew of scouts too.

Pretty excellent display of small ball by coach Marshall on a very windy day. Huge win vs. a low RPI team like ODU

Things are tightening up in the top half of the conference; 7 teams between RPI 12 and 88.

10-1 drubbing by ODU in the first game of a double header today. They're also leading 1-0 after two innings in the third game of the series.

ODU won the nightcap also, 4-2. Hats off to the Monarchs. You guys showed why you're rated where you are and why we're where we are.

Thanks Volkmar. The Monarchs have now won their last five conference series. Hopefully they can make some noise come tournament time.
