Alabama's uniforms and Georgia Tech's offense: two Georgia Southern traditions. 05-stirthepot

In defense of Georgia Southern, (I can do this only because it's April 03-wink) Georgia Tech has Georgia Southern's coach.
But wasn't Erk a GT product?

I was referring to Paul Johnson, the current GT head coach. I wikipedia-ed this, but Erk played for Auburn and spent time coaching in various positions for Auburn, Vandy, Georgia and then finally Georgia Southern. I also didn't realize he came up with G.A.T.A. Now that's more than enough Georgia Southern history for one App fan for a lifetime lol.

He was the last ever 4-sport letterman at Auburn as well.

There will never be another coach like Erk, and it's a damn shame he can't be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame because of a technicality.

While I think most of your posts on this board and gsufans.com are pompous vanilla snot and overly know-it-all, I agree wholeheartedly with that statement. Erk belongs in the CFHOF. It's a damn shame he isn't.

Horrible rule and should be changed. The man did more in 8 years as a head coach than some do in 20. Back to Apps uniforms though. I hope ya'll break out one of those fancy rags for our Thursday night game.

UGA
05-ban

I first laid eyes on ASU as a rising high school senior at a yearbook conference. I was the sports editor and studying college yearbooks to get ideas for our own. Came across a Georgia yearbook with a full page picture of Coach Russell, head bleeding from mixing it up with his linemen prior to a game. I'll never forget the caption in big, bold red letters...

Glory, Glory To Old Georgia, and To Hell With Georgia Tech!

It was awesome! The PTB nixed me using it in our annual.
