Sheesh, we're missing the NIT? We won't be nearly that bad this season.

I know right. Unfortunately we'll be stuck in the NCAA's. Sucks huh?

Sheesh, no wonder our fans are so quick to turn on our own players. This kid isn't even the odds on favorite to start at PG in a year when everyone in our back court is a newcomer, yet we're expecting him to go to the NBA in 3 years.

I don't know what everyone else is expecting. I know what I am expecting though. Kinda messed up you wanna put the entire fan base in that category when I am the only one who said it.

Crazy... :)

I think you're just symptomatic of the sort of lunacy that afflicts a lot of our fans, at least on this board. Expect the moon and then tear players to shreds when they don't deliver. It's a terrible mindset to have.

You're not in a position to decide if anyones mindset is terrible or not. If you choose to expect every player to be average or suck and for the team to be in the NIT that's on you. Don't expect everyone to have your mindset. I expect the best out of every single one of our players and they should expect to be the best they can be. A lot of us have stated numerous times we can accept a loss, we can accept a player having a bad game. What I personally don't accept is players being lazy, sulking, playing with no heart or intensity and so on.

If a player comes here and plays his heart out every second he is on the court whether he meets expectations or not I will support them. It's the ones who say "I was pressured to be here, and didn't wanna be here" and actually play like that a lot is what drives me crazy.

My advice to you is to learn to accept what you get, because these kids don't owe you anything. You act more entitled than today's teenagers.

He doesn't feel entitled at all and I agree with his take. Is it an entitlement to tell everyone how to be a fan? Some here apparently think so.

I'm pretty sure you're nothing special. However, I'm sure your mommy said you were as a kid and you still believe it to this day. Good for you!!!

As far as being entitled, that comment makes no sense. If they accept a scholarship from the University of Memphis or anywhere for that matter they should be expected to give their all. How is that oweing me or any fan here anything? Is us expecting a player to come in and do his best too much to ask for? Once again, you make stupid comments.

Keep trying though bro.

"Entitlement- noun- The fact of having a right to something."

I've bolded his statement for your review in light of the definition of "entitlement".

You're starting to get the idea now. Nowhere do "you" personally appear in the equation. If you're going to support the kids, great. If you're going to deride them because they don't meet your ludicrous expectations, save it.

You're already getting more than you're due just by being able to watch these kids volunteer their time and energy to entertain you.

You're a legend in your own mind. Congratulations. Apparently you not only think you have the right to tell people how to be a fan, but now you're telling us what a noun is even though I used the word "entitlement" as a noun. Brilliant. Your keen sense of the obvious is impressive.

So "accepting", "not accepting" and "personally accepting" is me saying I or we as a fan base has the right to something? I can accept or not accept anything I want. As can anyone here. Not just about the basketball team either.

What I find hilarious is fans like you who come on here and tell people they aren't good fans, or are wrong because the expect something different than you. You are one of the worst posters on this board when it comes to this.

I also find it funny that you think you KNOW everything their is to know about the game of basketball and every team that plays it. Again, you can't tell me or anyone here how to be a fan, how to cheer for our team, what our expectations should be. At this point I honestly think you're pretty weird. It's like you have some kind of issue mentally that makes you get on and have to tell people they are wrong about something everyday and you actually think you are always right...

Do what you do I guess...

Your acceptance (or lack thereof) here is so inconsequential that it doesn't even warrant wasting the bandwidth to type it out. If you don't think you are entitled to a certain behavior from our kids, then you wouldn't have typed your post.

What I find hilarious is fans like you who come on here and tell people they aren't good fans, or are wrong because the expect something different than you. You are one of the worst posters on this board when it comes to this.

There are only fans; not good fans and bad fans. I'm not sure why you are so pre-occupied with "bad fans". You're a fan, I'm a fan. I'm just telling you how it is.

Just offering you some friendly advice. Just be a fan and stop whining about what you're entitled to. You're an adult (I assume), there are kids and it's a bad look for you.

Do what you do I guess...

I just try to seize every teaching moment I can, TM.

You're an idiot.

Uhhhhh, is this a trick question? Exactly how much are they "paid".

And we're resorting to the personal stuff THAT quick, huh?

Just offering you some friendly advice. Just be a fan and stop whining about what you're entitled to. You're an adult (I assume), there are kids and it's a bad look for you.

Do what you do I guess...

I just try to seize every teaching moment I can, TM.

Again, I can accept or not accept anything I want too, you have taken my comments and twisted them into some weird conversation now. I credit this to your condition. I will not hold it against you.

Again, no one wants you on here telling them how to be a fan. Talk about the team, talk about the players, talk about the coach, talk about the schedule and so on. Keep your "fan" comments to yourself as well as telling people they are wrong for thinking a certain way. I can expect and accept whatever I want.

I don't need your friendly advice. I am willing to bet I have accomplished more in the game of basketball and in life. So give it to those who need it, not people who are better then you.

Also, just for the record. Yes, I am an adult. I think it's funny when you tell me or other posters here we don't have the right to think this way or that way. This is America and I'm pretty sure it's a free country.

Also, where did this whining comment come from? There was no whining in anything I posted. You are once again just making things up. I will again let it slide because I'm sure it's due to your condition.
