Scheduling with Liberty in Sun Belt
In football we would have 2 6-team division. So I am assuming each team would play the other 5 in its division plus 3 from other division = 8 games. I would assume you would play in 2 year cycles-- play 3 from other division home/home and then for next 2 years play the other 3 home/home.

In basketball and baseball I would prefer to have no divisions. I know that would mean 22 basketball conference games which is alot but I would support that. In baseball that would be 11 series= 33 conference games.

Point of divisions for other sports is to reduce travel costs since they travel more than football does.

You'd see divisions there too.

I doubt it. As of now the discussion appears to be no divisions with 16 or 18 games. Play 7 teams twice and 4 teams once.

They appear the most likely. Though they are not in yet.

Well this would make zero sense. If you are going to do that just have divisions. Play the 5 in your division twice and the other 6 once for 16 games.

Chiefsfan, do you think we would go with 33 baseball conference games?

I believe this to all be correct...at least I'm cool with it.

It would depend on what the coaches want to do OOC wise. Most of the major leagues played only 10 series despite having 12 teams.

If our coaches feel we would be better off getting high caliber OOC teams to play us and improve our RPI...then we'll stick to 10 series. If they are more worried about home games...we'll go to 11.

If you are going to only take top 8 to basketball and baseball tournies I think you have to play complete round robin (home/home in basketball and play all 11 schools in baseball.

If you don't do that I support all 12 going to tournament.

They have important jobs. Arkstfan runs ASU's scout site and makes regular contact with our athletic department. Cajun fans can vouch for Bird
