SBC Guide for Friends
Hope no one takes offense but its off season I'm bored some of you may think its dumb but ol' well. Making a reference guide for friends so when they ask about SBC programs, they all watch the SEC so I wanted to give a SBC/SEC comparison to make the conversation quick

Alabama- Troy (Most Conference Championships)
Florida- Louisiana (Has on of the best game day atmosphere's and in one of best recruiting areas)
LSU-Arkansas State (annual conference contender with great recent success)
Georgia- Georgia Southern (great location, great potential, great history)
Auburn- Appalachian State (tremendous home field environment, exciting programs, tons of recent success and history)
Arkansas- Texas State (Programs that both failed to reach their potential thus far)
Texas A&M- USA (program on the rise and bright futures)
Mississippi State- New Mexico State (#2 teams in home state's both under perform)
Ole Miss- ULM (academics are important, mid pack program)
Kentucky- Georgia State (bball)
Vanderbilt- Idaho
(now that James Franklin is gone, Vandy will return to their Idaho ways)

You had me until you wrote about ULM and academics. Now you got me ROFLMAO

I guess you had to say something about them. Ole Miss and ULM both in towns nobody wants to end up on a Friday night.

I agree with all but for USA and ULM. USA has yet to proven they are on the rise. One okay season doesn't make a program. ULM is academically important? Besides having a pharmacy, they don't make any nationally respected list.
Academically in LA
1. Tulane - If deserved or not they are perceived as the top.
2. LSU
3. Tech and UL depending on the criteria.
4. UNO
Then the rest of the community and cow pasture colleges

I don't know what to think about the LSU - Arkansas State comparison. Not sure if I need to scream wolf bait, eat a corndog, chew on some grass, or throw a beer bottle at someone.

your right I couldn't think of much to say about ULM. I'm just interested to see what they can do w/o Browning.

We beat them by 28 with Browning. In fact, we never lost to ULM during the Browning era. 03-nutkick

I know! But Browning was such a huge part of their offense, I figured we really could have beaten them. That win might have been the difference between our REAL end of season, and a possible bowl game for us.

I think that is what hurts worse. Though the 2 pick 6's our QB threw didn't feel too nice either.

Basketball? ROFLMAO. This is not Kentucky attall. There is more press and fan talk about an 0-12 football season than there was about a 25-9 MBB season.

Man, I remember being a young and impressionable kid, and being taken to an LSU home football game. I saw an entire row of people throw their plastic drink cups (filled) at the opposing cheerleaders after the opposing team scored a touchdown (not the student section). I thought that was hilarious. Thankfully I grew out of that and became a Cajun fan.

RE: SBC Guide for Friends
I seem to remember ULM's coach saying that 2013 was the year they had been waiting for. Browning was a senior and most of the seniors starting had started as freshman four years before that. Remarkable for a class to stay together that long. If I'm remembering that correctly they'll have more than Browning to replace.

The last time I went to Cajun Field (2011) the students in the front row dumped beer on the band as they were walking back from halftime. Like father, like son, I guess.
