Sure as hell, won't affect mine.
Redbirds open at AZP. You like you some Birds.
Just like football players, baseball players wear full length uniforms and headgear.

Night game under the lights. Better attendance also since families are usually busy with stuff on Saturdays
How is going head to head with Griz and Redbirds going to create better attendance. Get off work at 5 fight rush hour traffic and it is 6 before you get home and you are pushing it to make it to LBS before 7. IF you go without eating. If you wanted evening game then Saturday evening at 5 or 6 would have been better for families.

do you think Grizz attendees and Spring Game attendees overlap that much?

You have to consider the product above all. Memphis Madness would probably draw 15K or more regardless of what night it was held. Memphis football, on the hand, appeals to a niche group of supporters. Most people in the city of Memphis don't give a flip about the intersquad scrimmage of a historically crummy football program. I'm a U of M grad and a football fan, but I've never even considered going to the U of M spring game. I feel that there are better uses of my time e.g. the Redbirds or the Grizzlies or 20/20 on ABC. I have been to Memphis Madness on numerous occasions. There's more excitement because the program is significantly better.
All that said, Memphis football needs to earn some support. I was high on Fuente, but he lost me a little bit with the way things ended last season. They took a step back IMO. It's up to them to win some games and make me interested again.

I'm still high on Fuente and don't think they took a step back, I think they had some bad games and bad luck.
I like Fuente a lot and hope this season things turn around and we continue to make steady progress.
I would have gone to the B&G game but I have to go to the Grizz game as I got the tickets through a charity I'm involved in and have an obligation to go (not that I'm complaining)

Wow. Fuente has been incredible, I can think of nothing negative to say about him at all. Hell, he has drastically over-achieved.

Does anyone know if there are plans for consessions (food in general)?
I have seen it vary over the years at the Spring Game. The plan is to meet up with Friends after work before the player walk through.
I haven't seen this information posted anywhere . . . Thx

if there's security at the gate, more than likely the concessions will be open.

The way things ended last season was due to the schedule, having to play former Big East schools who had been playing at a higher level of competition than we had, and we were playing at the bottom of CUSA. I was surprised, but I finally figured those kids left it all on the field at Louisville and couldn't get it back for a full 60 minutes.
I think he is the right guy for right now.

I like Fuente too. Not just him but the staff too.
I always chuckle at the age-old argument that more people attend a football game than a basketball game on average. Shocking. Must have something to do with the frequency and times of the games. Or, it might be the difference in venue capacity.
I can't think of any other situation where a major D1 school has higher average attendance for a basketball game vs. a football game. Now, try adding and comparing total attendance for the whole season.

That is a false comparative. For the most part, the same people attend all the basketball games (ie. season tickets), so the same 18,000 people (again, by and large) are attending the bb games. IOW, you can't really prove that more than 18,000 are interested in attending bb games.
Now, I don't doubt there ARE more, but how much????? you don't know and I don't know.
What I find more interesting is the minutia of how many season tickets are sold for football v. basketball. Unless the FEF has sold out of season tickets (which I don't believe it has since John left for Kentucky), BB has not reached it's arena capacity restrictions, therefor you cannot use that excuse. And how many season tickets have sold for a football team that hasn't even made the post season since 2007? I believe last year's total was somewhere around 20,000?

Another entitled U of M graduate. Heck, get your butt out there and show some support, enjoy the spring evening on Tiger Lane, forget about the last two games of last season, and come out and see what our team is looking like for THIS year.
You must be a youngster because the history of our football program is not as "crummy" as you think. It's been wonderful at times.
So, who is your SEC team? Well, I will tell you I graduated from an SEC school in Nashville, but MY TEAM IS THE TIGERS AND I WILL BE OUT TO SUPPORT THEM TOMORROW NIGHT. If you choose not to come out, it's your loss. Don't worry, I will keep your seat warm for you so when the team proves they are worthy of your support, you can just come right on in and enjoy it all.

Not arguing. But using your per game attendance comparative, well, it would be easy to look at the FACTS and come to the conclusion that football is the preferred sport at Duke, Kansas and even the University of Kentucky.

You know what? I would not dispute those facts, either. Just because the media pimps one sport over the other in certain places does not mean they represent the real truth. Hell, FOR YEARS, Kentucky inexplicably nearly sold out their football games, even as bad as they were back in the '90s and '00s.

The fact that you said that the Redbirds would be a better use of your time rather than supporting your university's football team is sad.
