How about a link. Can't believe App State won the SoCon Commissioners
Cup for almost thirty something years in a row and are ranked so low.

We win that because we offer more sports than anyone else in the SoCon. Overall, our athletic teams don't perform that well on a national scale. Not surprised to see us ranked so low. Every team ranked had/has a losing record with the exception of volleyball.

Most years our per sport average is also the highest, mainly due to football and the three T&F sports. We are typically in the top half of all SoCon sports minus tennis and golf.

But this year has been sub par all around.

Nice try but that doesn't count and I wasn't referring to that. Football, MBB, WBB, Baseball, Track, Volleyball... We are at or near the top of the conference in all of those sports. No way we are behind most of those programs listed as an overall program. They must punish programs for not having as many sports since the ones we do have are very competitive.

That's why I think most of these types of rankings are garbage. Granted, Troy wouldn't get close in any type of ranking system. We've got work to do.

Troy will get back up there sooner or later. I don't think anyone could possibly put any stock into that ranking.

I have no idea how we stack up to other Sun Belt teams, but I can't see us being behind Georgia Southern. We've been awarded the SoCon's Commissioners Cup most every year of its existence. It's awarded to the school with the top men's sports program as a whole in the conference. After the Winter Championships (end of Fall semester sports), we were 2nd and GA Sou was 11th. Apparently the points allocation system with this Massey Rankings is totally different.

what about women's sports?

App was 2nd in women's with Georgia Southern 6th. I'm not knocking you guys, I'd just like to figure that out. I'll need to do some research.

Beats me. I don't put any weight in these rankings anyway. And since we won't be competing for a national championship in football, all I care about is winning. Win the conference in any sport and don't leave it up to rankings 04-rock

That is true, just win baby win lol.

I really don't care about Massey rankings either. Having said that, no one is following Track or Volleyball when it comes to RPI rankings, thus my comments about women's bowling. Football,MBB, WBB, Baseball and Softball show up in RPI rankings. So your point is more to do with the Bubbas Cup, rather then RPI rankings because you have no softball program and you can add up your final RPI rankings in the other sports at this point to measure your program.

When restricted to the rpi sports we are a lot better than that ranking as well.

We need a football/mens & womens basketball/baseball ranking compilation. If I wasn't too lazy I'd do it myself.

Add softball.. It is one of the strongest [nationally] sports in the Sun Belt.

Based upon what? You've done the math? Sounds like speculation at this point unless you have done the math. You are missing an entire sport, football and WBB RPI are good, MBB and BB are not that great in RPI.

I was serious about softball. At the current moment, every SBC school with softball is in the top 150 [nationally]. USA and UL are both in the top 20.

Next year WKU will be gone, but GaSo comes aboard with a top 75 team, and Appy is in the top 200.

It isn't speculation. We are one of the top SBC programs when you count all of those sports. That list has lots of less successful programs ahead of us. Hence, that list is crap.

Last time I checked the NCAA does not sanction Beer Pong.
