2003: Golden State 38-44
2004: Golden State 37-45
2007: Sacramento Kings 33-49
2011: Reno (NBA DL) 34-16
2012: LA (NBA DL) 38-12

Spent the last 2 years at Arizona State learning how to recruit...

He could be a really solid hire.

That name has been bandied about on the Houston bulletin boards. The general feeling is that he would be a very good hire.

Still negotiating is all we have heard. Knowing us, Im sure money is the sticking point. Im hoping we are finally ready to ante up with a big boy coach.

Quietly, I believe Sampson to Houston is a done deal... I'll be totally shock if Sampson isn't named Houston's basketball head coach before Thursday of next week.

Damn... Eric Musselman wouldn't be an inside the park home run, but rather an over the fence home run, hands down.

Hope you guys get him 04-cheers

A lot of people believe that, but when it comes to money...things can get very dicey in our athletic department. I hope we are ready to make a proper commitment to quality basketball. Supposedly there is at least one other hat in the ring. I guess it could be Lucas---he supposedly expressed interest last time the job was open. From what we are hearing---we like Sampson, he likes us----that means its just about making the numbers work. Its not going to be cheap.

I would love to have Musselman be the next Houston coach. I thought that long before the Sampson stuff came up.

I thought Neal was a candidate. What happened to him? Or did he just use USF to try and get a raise out of NM?

RE: New name for USF job
Overall 566-340 (.625 pct.)
NBA record: 108-138 (.439 pct.)
CBA record: 270-122 (.688 pct.)
USBL record: 53-3 (.946 pct.)
NBA D-League record: 77-30 (.719 pct.)

You never know what kind of talent he had since the GM's hand it to him, but I do think he would do well. Having NBA connections on your resume looks good in the recruiting game. I like him better than Massiello and most of the names connected to this job.

I dont think Neal was as serious a candidate as the media made him out to be. USF was looking at a good recruiter or someone with coaching experience. I think Neal was good this year but the book still has questions on both those issues.

I think Musselman is better in coaching experience and recruiter and Antigua is also a better recruiter
