On the surface I agree. Liberty is pulling out all the stops apparently. If it's a unanimous vote or an overwhelming majority voting NO, then Liberty is done. But if it's only short 1 or 2 votes, they still have life

As for Benson, he's right. The SBC does need to advance and do so now if they want to remain relevant

If only Liberty could help them advance. Unfortunately they can not. The University of Phoenix at Lynchburg does nothing to advance the conference.

Liberty and U Phoenix and the like should form their own conference.

An expert was on CNBC this morning talking about how the federal government was looking into federal loan fraud charges against for-profit online educators. The crack down is coming, and Liberty will be scrutinized within that group.

This is coming and is overdue. I have no idea if LU has a liability there (they can't possibly be as repulsive as some of the other players in that field)

My guess is that those with the major liabilities would be those that produce non-degree education. There might be some blowback on some of LU's seminarial degrees or certificates. But I'd be surprised if they got hit as bad as Virginia College for example.

Don't know either....but, I can guarantee that a school with 90,000 online students who receives hundreds of millions in federal loan funds will be examined.

And they should be. If their graduates are having trouble paying back the loans then the school should be cut off.

Default rates for Universities in the US are in the link below. Liberty has a 7% default rate. As a comparison here are other Universities default rates. Baylor University 7%, Texas A & M University-College Station 5%, Texas Tech University 8%, Texas State University-San Marcos 6%, Stony Brook University 6%, SUNY at Albany 6%, California State University-Fullerton 6% and Michigan State University 4%. I just looked at random Uni's but one could assume all Uni's around the same rank as LU have similar default rates. UOPX and other for-profits default rates are in the double digits.
