It's the RPI. Do you not understand how it works?

Yes, you did beat those teams, but you also played 17 games against teams with losing records, some with really bad records. Remember, 50% of your score is against who you play. If the majority of the teams you play have a losing record, your rpi score will reflect that.

On our schedule so far also has auburn, miss st, coastal carolina, and uab. Pretty tough schedule against very good teams.

When did Jackson State join the conference? What am I missing here? You are not a member, not going to be a member, and sadly your particular rank has zero interest for members.

If the RPI stayed the same, then at the end of the year USA would have played:

15 of our 46 games against top 50 teams.
32 of our 46 games against top 100 teams.
40 of our 46 games against top 150 teams.

3 of those non-top 150 RPI games are against ULM, and they might be able to become top-150 by season's end which would give us 43 of 46 games against top-150 opponents. ULM's current RPI is 157. I would imagine it's very similar for Louisiana.

You may take this as semantics, but "schedule" is all-encompassing. What you just mentioned are tough games. Your schedule has to take into account #284 Alabama A&M (4-20, 2 games), #281 Mississippi Valley State (3-21, 3 games), #268 Northern Kentucky (3-21, 1 game), #261 St. Bonaventure (3-18, 2 games), all of which more than counterbalances the 2 games against #21 Auburn (28-5-1), the game against #32 UAB (17-14), the 2 against #37 Mississippi State (23-10) and the 3 wins of which you mentioned. I just mentioned the upper and lower ends of the schedule, the middle does play a factor, but the lower part of your schedule shows why, with a 19-8 record, Jacksonville State is situated where it is in these rankings.

Kinda got the feeling the thread was about how SBC softball teams are doing as a conference and future conference mates.

You of course can post as you like, and people are free to comment on your comments. Live with it.
