Yup.. but someone over there says that Carey and Ude (which surprised me, I thought he wanted to be back next season) won't be back this season..so that puts us at 13 I think, not counting Paige.

I put the list together so blame me if it's wrong. I believe Chapman is a walk on so a couple of guys will have to go to get to the scholarship limit.

That's A LOT of junior college players. Assuming all the juco guys are on scholarship next season, more than half your scholarships will be for junior college players.

No different then what Larry E and DT have done their tenures here in the past.. JUCO's and Transfers.

It's worked so far for the past 8 seasons.

I don't follow recruiting and I definitely don't know jack squat about basketball recruiting, but Hoopscoop.com has us with the #16 rated class in the nation FWIW...

Not to take away from your class because I don't know any specifics about the players that MT recruited, but HoopScoop ranks classes based off of how many cumulative stars your recruits have by their rankings.

Let's say my school signs two 5 star recruits. We'd have 10 stars cumulative.

If MT signs seven 2 star recruits, you'd have 14 stars and outrank my schools recruiting class, even though anyone with a clue would know that those two 5 star recruits are likely going to have a bigger impact than those 2 star recruits.

They had Charlotte ranked #13 back in 2007. We didn't really have that great of a class, we just signed a lot of players.

People call it PoopScoop for a reason.

Isn't that how all the recruiting services rank using a tally system?

The only reason I'll give them any cred is because they had us with top 25 classes twice in the last four or five years and we played like a top 25 team in 2012-13.

I don't believe so.

North Carolina currently ranks 3rd in ESPN rankings despite having only 3 commits.

Louisville on the other had has 6 commits, 4 of which are ESPN top 100 commits. In total, they have 19 stars. They are ranked 4th.

UNC has 3 commits with 5 stars for 15 stars total.

I'm pretty sure most services have a formula that balances average stars and takes into account number of players. HoopScoop just adds up the stars.

I'm in no way trying to argue that MT doesn't have a nice class, just so we're clear, I just don't like or trust HoopScoop.

I think this is probably the best one out there:

http://247sports.com/Season/2014-Basketb...ence=C-USA

I'm not saying it's flawless, but it seems to be as good as it gets.

I like 247, but I'm not really sure how their scoring and rankings work. It has Tulane listed with 1 3 star recruit (and only one recruit total) and Charlotte 2, yet Tulane's class is rated better.

They rate players more in depth than just stars. In your example, the Tulane 3 star player is rated better than both of the Charlotte 3 star players.
