EKU Hilltoppers
A very well respected NOLA radio host on WWL (Huge station that reaches from Texas to Florida) actually said this on my way home from work. He said, "that Kansas better watch out for those Eastern Kentucky Hilltoppers." That's how low the Belt and CUSA are on the food chain. I have a lot of respect for WKU. They have a fine tradition in basketball and now football. So this isn't a dig at you guys. I no longer wish for us to join CUSA. I would prefer to see a merger. Both leagues have fine schools with very large and loyal fan bases but we don't get the respect we deserve. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The power conferences are the enemy. Heck throw the MWC in for good measure and have a huge playoff system. That would attract fans and TV money. It's better to be proactive than wait for crumbs to fall from the masters plate. Bite him on the leg and make him scream!

He must be used to seeing the Hilltoppers in the NCAA and winning games.

You missed the whole point. WKU has made a name for themselves in NCAA basketball. WWL is the station of the entire Gulf South. You can listen to it at night from Pensacola to Houston. You can probably catch it in Bowling Green. It's 870 am. This is a veteran anchor that should know WKU basketball. We need to stop fighting amongst ourselves and unite to create something new exciting and big. The MWC, CUSA and Sunbelt will never be nothing more than what they are today. United we can unite and make something truly great.

I listened to an LSU football game once on WWL while on my way to a casino with my inlaws... in Central Minnesota. I've listened to them in Virginia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Mississippi and I'm probably forgetting a couple.
I had to explain to a doofus the other day the difference between the A-10 and the A-Sun. It happens. Hell, I heard Boomer Esiason months back do some kind of radio editorial talking about FCS football champion North Dakota and how the team in Fargo didn't have a nickname. National guys are lazy.
