yup, when you have that many seniors that have played that many games together, vs a team with a mix of freshman and seniors, it makes a big difference come tournament time.

that and Duke is used to choking in the tourny too.

Woohoo! Mercer is my pre-GSU alma mater. I'm much more invested in Panther athletics, but this Bears win is a great consolation prize after the end of GSU's season!

Dukes a football school now.

ACC complaine dhwo they didn't have enough schools in and A10 had too many. And now their number three loses to an Atlantic Sun school.

If 14 seed Mercer can beat 3 seed Duke...14 Louisiana can beat 3 seed Creighton. Come on Cajuns and make some noise for the Sun Belt!

Mercer has scholarship football and heading to the SoCon next year. Great win by those guys. Definitely worth going to their board and leaving well wishes. They have a real shot at the Sweet 16.
And for those Troy fans, would you guys have ever thought Mercer would get back when ya'll were in the A-Sun?

yes they were. i watched mercer in their championship game and fgcu was bringing it but couldn't overtake mercer.

fun fact: danny emerson who played for 2 years at western txferred to mercer and had 2 very nice years to finish it up.

he had 2 older brothers that also played at mercer. i became pretty good friends with danny's dad while he played here and my son actually became good friends with danny as they were in the same class at western.

very happy any time rat-face loses but mercer beating them makes it even more special. lol.

count me as a mercer fan today.

It's shocking to say the least....

But let me tell you. Mercer is investing in facilities and sports if anyone has been on their campus.

RE: Mercer
Mercer a better team than Duke? Okay guys...

They played better as a team today, but Duke wins that game on talent alone 7 out 10 times.

Mercer proved that having that level of experience(7 seniors) if you can keep the more talented team from pulling away for 30 minutes, you can beat anyone in the country, but on a better day from Parker/Hood that game is over at the half.

Having said all of that, after 40 minutes, Mercer played the better game and deserved to win and that's what really matters.

They're a better team this year. That doesn't mean every year.

We were a better team than Florida this year.

Matchups are very important in any sport.

You ain't joking. That stadium is nice, and has already had the first phase of expansion added prior to the stadium opening. Their ticket demand was through the roof so they added seats before construction was completed.

He seemed a little less smug in his presser than usual, I guess multipledouble digit seed upsets in recent years can do that to a coach.

I'm not saying I wasn't rooting for Mercer, I'm not even saying I didn't enjoy seeingDuke lose, but K definitely looked and sounded like a coach in that situation should in my opinion. Gave lots of credit to Mercer.
