2015 Football Recruiting
It's very early but I noticed 247 has 4 CUSA teams in their top 50 recruiting rankings. Tech (31), FAU (33), UTSA (37) and UAB (48). AAC has just South Florida (29), MWC, MAC and SBC don't have any teams ranked at this time.

No way..that's pretty sweet. Offer his friends and stay right? I've played out scenarios where a top QB calls up the top RB, WR, S, linemen, etc. and says "Hey, we're all committing to X school..going to put them on the map" and it being one of the non-P5 schools. Will never happen, but it's cool to think about.

Utah is in the PAC 12 so the MWC has 0 in the top 50. I don't think this is important at this stage of the game.

Rice got an ESPN 300 DT a couple days ago... Who knows if he'll actually stay.

His former HS coach is now the running backs coach for FAU. I have no idea if he'll stick or not. His commitment caused quite a bit of buzz and he may just be doing it as a favor to his old coach.
Course he could stay too. He says recruiting is open for him still (as it should be this early). But he has come back to visit the school a few times to watch practice and visit.

If we hang on to the 6 we already have and continue on we will have a very solid recruiting class this year. Much better than last season's class. The question will be if Skippy can coach them and he will have 1-2 years to prove he can.

I would never want the job of trying to tackle him. He looks like a beast of a RB.

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting
Some VERY encouraging news on Jordan Scarlett from our blogger. Still a long time to go but this is exciting.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/fau-o...2689.story
When St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Scarlett committed to FAU in December, a ripple went through the college football landscape.
Convention has it that a five-star rated uberprospect like Scarlett isn't supposed to play at a Conference USA school — much less FAU. National Signing Day 2015 is months away, but since the commitment, there's been plenty of ballyhoo on message boards and recruiting sites about Scarlett's presumed inevitable flip to one of the nation's football powerhouses.
There's still plenty of time for Scarlett, who committed to his former high school coach, Roger Harriott, to flip, but for now, it doesn't seem like he's keen to do so.
"It’s a very strong commitment," Scarlett told 247sports Monday. “I’ll definitely get back there soon to catch up with those guys. I picked them because I wanted to go somewhere I can start a new tradition. Their running backs coach, Roger Harriott, was our head coach before. He was such a big impact on my life and I wanted to continue keeping him as a part of my college career.”
Scarlett has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Florida. He's the Sun Sentinel's top-ranked player from the Class of 2015 [see full rankings].

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting
It will be tough, I know every big boy program in the country wants his services. But that connection with the coach maybe the thing that secures the deal. If he sticks he could be the most dynamic player in CUSA for a LONG time.

The problem here is games are not won on paper. As our head coach says, "we do our own evaluation and do not need non-coaches to do it for us. The keys are strong condition/strength coach and assistant coaches that can coach its players to a higher level of play." ECU best two returning players are a walk-on All Cusa Hardy (WR) and two-stars Cusa POY Carden (QB).

Well maybe if you recruited a little better your best player wouldn't be a walk-on.

Leave it to r2 to try and make FAU getting a 5-star commit a story about how great ECU is at spotting hidden gems.
I don't really look at stars on a stand alone basis either. I pay more attention to who else offered a kid and in this case a ton of people who get paid to evaluate and recruit the best talent want that kid. Tells me all I need to know about him.

Please.......I gave MY opinion and not once did I mention FAU or ask anyone to agree. Banker and couple of your buddies just try to cause conflict by attacking mostly ECU posters......I just do not understand why they have so much hate in their hearts. Anyway, congratulation to FAU supporters on its five star verbal commit, too.

That new field house should only help with recruiting too. I'm glad that thing is finally getting underway.
