RE: Championship game recap
Excellent write-up, as usual.
I thought this pretty well summed up the loss for Georgia State:
It was a heartbreaking finish for Harrow, who completely dominated the game for Georgia State. The transfer from Kentucky scored 37 points and was completely un-guardable for everyone in a Cajuns uniform, including Payton who was deservedly the Sun Belt's Defensive Player of the Year. Harrow had his own personal 8-0 run which stretched the GSU lead to 66-55 with 5:19 to play. Inexplicably, though, Georgia State decided to run clock just about every possession from that point forward which resulted in just six Panthers points the rest of the half opening the door for the Cajuns remarkable comeback.
An example of coaching losing the game.

I noticed that too while watching. I thought GSU had it locked up and then they went soft and waited to win it. UL took advantage of the lack of pressure that had slowed them down and fought back. It was like using a prevent defense in football. Pointless.

I thought when Long came back in after his 4th foul the plan would be to go after him and get him out of the game. Then... we don't get near him until OT. But that is why I sit on the couch and not the bench.

He only body-slammed Crider....twice....with no call (actually, Crider was called on one of them). Seemed clear what the story was going to be there...

My dad was a big football fan. Every time the Saints would try to use the prevent defense against a good team like the 49's, they'd lose. He'd always shake his head and comment, "prevent defense, yeah, prevent your team from winning".

Actually, I thought Long's fifth foul was totally bogus. All the guys in the lane had their arms over their heads and jumped up to grab the ball. Both Long and the GaState player had two hands on the ball. If anything, I thought it should have been a jump ball.

Should have already been out of the game by that point, so.....

If the refs had called the same game on both ends of the court, Hunter would have been gone about 5 min into the second half, and neither Crider nor Washington would have made it to halftime.

I'm sorry for the change of subject, but did anyone else think/notice that RJ Hunter looked a little like Michael Jackson??
