How do you like the SBC basketball tourney format?
Giving the #1 and #2 seed double byes and the #3 and #4 seed single byes.

How do basketball fans like this format moving forward?

It seems to me to help protect the higher seeds and give the Belt a better chance of having multiple bids to the NCAA's so I like it.

I like it for this reason as well.

I agree. It avoids the chance of upsets and makes the regular season more important.

As long as the schedule is a double round robin where you play every other team home and home I support it as well.

It really hurt us. But it makes the regular season more meaningful and gives the better teams a better shot and seed....so I have to give a nod in the affirmative on the format.

We hurt us. If we choose to play a shred of defense on Elfried Payton in the final minute last weekend, we're the 3 seed and ULL is the one stuck dealing with UALR.

I meant as opposed to the other format.

I think this format is most beneficial for the league.

Even then...not really. We still would have a game against UALR, while Georgia state would have been throttling Troy had we gone the traditional route.

All it would have meant is that GSU might not have been as fresh.

Which was my point really.

I always supported a six team format with 1 and 2 getting byes to the semi-finals, so I'll take this as a compromise.

We blew so many chances to get the two seed that it doesn't bother me at all.

Wish I could remember who it was in the thread asking if we wanted Troy or UALR who predicted that if UALR won against Troy that we would be lucky to advance and would be so worn out GaSt would beat us. Heckuva better prediction than I ever make on the games.
