Can nmsu and idaho win the sbc?
With in-state recruiting for these two programs minimal, can either of these programs win the sbc at least twice within a ten year period?

Of course. They can get the right coach and that one superstar appears at the same time who chooses their school because its close to home.

Yes, anybody can put together a run in the SBC if the stars align for them.

You didn't ask the question right, you asked can they win, sure they can, any team in the conference can win it.

The real question is "will" they win it, and I say no, they won't. NMSU probably has the better chance of the two, but even they are slim chances.

I think they can and will. They will need to improve coaching and make a strong commitment. But if you would have asked the same question on UL five years ago many would probably say no as well. UL made strong and smart choices to improve and it paid off. Georgia St is slowly doing the same thing.

It's happened more often than not in the Sun Belt. Off the top of my head there were co-champions in 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and weren't there co-champions this past season?

What does in state recruiting have to do with winning in a state like Idaho?

Not many FBS players in either state as a ratio of population, and if you want to be successful you have to get those, and try to grab some others from states like California, and maybe Louisiana as an example based on the great scenic background of the great NW. My wife loves the desert, maybe other S Louisiana studs might as well.

Either way it is tough, low population, weak FBS population, makes for an uphill fight, it is not basketball where one or two players make a huge difference.

It seems like most of our players come from California already.

If we go to 12? No chance in hell do they become co-champions.

NEVER EVER EVER.
