“It’s unfortunate that we have to have these weather events, but there is a silver lining if you wish, because these weather events, what they remind us is that solving climate change, addressing climate change in a timely way, is not a partisan issue.”

“It’s not like these weather events affect those who are on the left of the political scale or those who are on the right. It doesn’t matter where you are in politics, nationally or internationally – you get the same impact. The longer we wait to have policy that positively affects the trajectory of [greenhouse gas] emissions, the more of these events we’re going to have.”

Secondly it shows just how stupid they think that we are to believe that they can take our money, lower our standard of living and make us like it while the weather goes on doing exactly what it has always done.

Christ, what a stupid question.

Considering that the US and Europe are attempting to curb emissions while the BRIC countries are less engaged, please explain how destroying the economies of "participating" countries while absorbing the impact from the "emerging" countries makes any difference or sense. Particularly in light of nearly 20 years of model predictions being WRONG.

I get the concern over CO2 levels; but I do not get the resulting consequence as espoused by this theory, nor do I get how efforts made by the US can make any discernable impact on the trend.

With that being said, it is hard to either promote a piecemeal approach by country, or promote some one-world governance that few people would accept, especially in light of spotty evidence and modeling.
