When does spring ball start?
Do I have to call the football office for spring ball too? Sucks because I don't like watching from the stands, I like to watch from the parking lot behind the press box. Why does PJ have to make things so difficult? I don't want to have to talk to people PJ. My kids like to play in the parking lot while I watch practice. I am a junkie and need a fix but sitting in the stands and having to go through all the crap keeps me from going. If I could just decide to pop in and watch for an hour, I would go to way more practices and post what I see. But I guess that is the problem.

Anyone who has bled for the program should get to do whatever the hell they want. This is ridiculous.

RE: When does spring ball start?
I haven't been able to find times and dates for spring practice other than it starts next week and when the spring game is.

I will try to keep you guys updated as much as possible, but I think an article is going to be put up on the official website soon detailing the spring schedule.

Thanks. I doubt they make it outside much as cold as it is.

It's all been in Seelye so far. I don't see them trudging out in the snow just yet.

RE: When does spring ball start?
Actually, I believe practices start either the 17th or 18th. And spring game is a month later on the 19th.

RE: When does spring ball start?
When I was a freshman we had to shovel off the field when it snowed during spring ball as part of our initiation/hazing. Good times.....
We didn't have a warm and cozy indoor facility. Today's players are bunch of wuzzies. :)

We used to have lb meetings in the unheated bathrooms in Walcott before going out on the icy field. I only had to play one year on that awful astro turf that was so crowned you felt like you were running uphill running gassers.

RE: When does spring ball start?
My first Spring Waldo was being renovated - the first incarnation of AstroTurf.

We still used the old Kanley practice fields.

If weather was bad we had to wait until Baseball was done, then practice at night in the "Dirt Area" of Gary Center.

Lost a few footballs in the rafters-cat walks punting in there.

RE: When does spring ball start?
Sprained my knee freshman year because of that damn crown. It had just rained and the middle was dry and the sides were wet. Slipped on the wet turf and hit the dry stuff .......like hitting a brick wall. Missed two weeks.....but got out of shoveling snow!
