I agree. We'll see what happens.

Have to wonder with the new coaching staff if our footprint for recruiting will shift. Gran had a lot of connections with all the high school coaches in Florida so we saw a lot of recruits from the Sunshine State the past three years. Taylor's connections/background is more Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc. Grimes is connected in Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and Georgia.

Would be nice if we could actually recruit a decent number of kids from Ohio, western Pennsylvania and the Greater Cincinnati-Dayton area. Scholarships for Ohio kids cost less to the UC athletic department and with upcoming games against Michigan, Ohio State, Indiana, Nebraska, Navy, UCLA et al., we should be in the hunt for quality football recruits who are not the 5-stars that O$U typically can bring in to their program. If Houston can do it, there is no reason we can't up our recruiting game as well. Unfortunately, it does not look that Tubs and his coaches have made any meaningful inroads with the Ohio high school coaching fraternity, and based on 2015 on-the field results, there may be a reason for it.

I think they have offered around a dozen or so to date. Some of the names I recall off the top of my head include:

Ra'Von Bonner (Sycamore)
Jarell White (La Salle)

If they are announced as members of Big 12 expansion in June, UC has a shot with the local studs. I noticed Colerain's safety, Amir Riep, was offered by Notre Dame today.

Surprisingly, there's a fine piece in the Enquirer by John Snodgrass on local hs football recruits right now. I'm not sure what role he has going forward, but it's probably the best article of its type I've ever seen in the Enquirer. For anyone so inclined, it might be worth writing to the editor with compliments or at least giving it a click to show interest and to get the details:

So for 2017, it looks like UC has offered almost everyone locally who also has a P5 offer including 3 who have already committed elsewhere:

- Cage is an OSU commit
- Matt Bockhorst, St. Xavier, OG – Clemson commit
- Sean Clifford, St. Xavier, QB – Penn State commit per above

As mentioned above, we've also offered Munford, Bonner, White, Bolden, Dotson and Jones (plus Riep).

A few other 2017 locals with UC offers to add to the list per the article are:

- Alex King, Mason, DE
- Matt Sichterman, Kings, OT
- Tanner Morgan, Ryle, QB
- Jamal Hines, Princeton, DE

IIRC, it seemed like nearly all of the above with UC offers also have one or more P5 offers. Among those without UC offers so far, quite a few had MAC offers and I think there was also a player listed with an Indiana offer and another with a Louisville offer. It also lists a couple of 2018 locals with UC offers. Kudos to the Enquirer.

I am acquainted with the Bockhorst Family. They're wonderful people. I really thought he was headed to Notre Dame. His dad was a LB for UC. I was hoping that UC would put his older brother on the team to entice Matt.

I'm guessing will go O-fer again with the local recruits with options
