UC offered Colerain 2017 linebacker Kyle Bolden today, according to his father, Colerain coach Tom Bolden.
It is the first offer for Kyle Bolden, who is 6 feet 1 and 205 pounds. He had 107 tackles, two fumble recoveries and 10 tackles for loss this past season for the Cardinals (8-4). He was first-team all-Greater Miami Conference.
Hopefully he learns from his brother and steers away from the big schools with the big depth charts.
I mean, his brother has been a starter at Michigan since his sophomore year and played regularly since he was a freshman. Didn't seem like the big roster at Michigan affected his playing time too much.

We also offered St. X QB Tyler Clifford:
Quote:Tuesday, Irish assistant coach Harry Hiestand was at St. Xavier to check in on Clifford and gather more information on the prospect. But he wasn't the only coach that was there. Cincinnati was also in the building, and the Bearcats joined Pittsburgh, Akron and Toledo as the initial schools that have extended a bid to the class of 2017 prospect.
sounds like he was impressive at the Rivals Quarterback Challenge in Cincinnati.
according to some folks on twitter, we have a 2017 commit before a 2016 commit. Runningback Jordan Merrell, at this time, has chosen to be a bearcat... we shall see.

Columbiana (OH) Crestview defensive end Jordan Murphy seems pretty interested in UC:
Quote:...Murphy is also hearing from several other programs, including Cincinnati. He camped for the Bearcat staff earlier this month, and performed very well.
"Cincinnati has been in touch, and I did well at their camp," he admitted. "I've also heard from Northwestern, Kent State, Syracuse and a few others. I really like Cincinnati a lot, and loved their camp."
"I learned a lot there, and really liked their coaching staff a lot," Murphy said. "Everyone is recruiting me as a defensive end. I'm the type of player that has the size they're looking for, and I have a strong work ethic."

FIFY
Eh, it's always a risk this early, but it depends upon what he's looking for (e.g early playing time). He still sounds pretty enthusiastic about UC in this vid from 2 days ago:

Bockhorst is most likely a Tennessee commit, I think if ND offers though he'd end up there.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Thayer Munford of LaSalle; he's still 15 and he's 6'6" 320 (down from 345 last year). He was at the Tony Merk Pigskin Preview at LaSalle last weekend and he passes the eyeball test. He has slimmed down and added muscle. He has tremendous upside.
UC has offered and 247 has him pegged for tO$U but I am hearing he loves a SEC school and has family with ties to that school.
Here's a photo of him last year as a sophomore:
Notre Dame really wants Hunter Johnson in the class of '17 at QB. It sounds like he'll be deciding soon. If they miss out on him then it'll be interesting to see if Clifford becomes a priority for them.
I've always heard Munford has some back issues. I think he missed all his freshman year because of that. For someone at his size that could be something that will continue to linger and be an issue throughout his career. I did hear that his dream school is Alabama.

Interesting. I always heard Bama.
Another kid in that class who is not talked about who is REALLY GOOD IMO is Matt Dotson the TE from Moeller. I think he's a big-time prospect. Every time I see him it looks like he's grown more. I've seen him on the lower levels and he is huge, physical and very athletic. If not for Jake Hausmann he would have started for them last year as a sophomore.
