Cry Me A River
Some people woul never have lasted in a real basketball league. This would have been laughed out of the old CAA.

The coaching box is more of a guideline than a rule... John Brady breaks it all the time.

It's a rule. It is regularly ignored. The only problem i have with any rule not being enforce is when it then becomes selectively enforced. If you won't enforce a rule then do not put it into play period. The coach was clearly on the court, and his illegal act interred with a game in progress.

I personally have no problem with Hunter's actions. And I believe the only reason Jay Walker wrote this article is because our own Cajun coach doesn't do the same. If he did, Jay Walker would not be complaining.

I was at both games in the Cajundome for GaState and WKU. And I gotta say I'm very impressed with GaState's squad AND coach.

Sure, he may get under the skin of alot of opposing fans but who cares??? He's coaching up his team and shows passion and gets into the game. He's successful at what he does. I only wish our coach had the balls that Ron Hunter has. We'd be on fire if so.

Good luck the rest of the way Panthers. Hopefully we can take you down in the Conference Tourny in New Orleans. Because right now, this league goes through Atlanta to the big dance.

1. I'm not clear on how the officiating at those games is supposed to have been inconsistent. Calling a T for one thing but not for another doesn't fit many definitions of inconsistency.

2. I love it that it's a barefoot CRH shown in the picture.

Back when Tim Floyd was prowling the Cajundome floor, I suggested to Marty that on one of his early offensive plays, he have his point guard throw the ball in Floyd's face while he was on the court. He laughed it off and I told him I wasn't joking, I was dead serious, and I was. In today's game, such actions would cause a fight, force fines and suspensions and create animosity between the coaches and schools. Floyd deserved to be treated that way. I hope Hunter is not like Floyd.

Quote:Cajun fans had flashbacks to when Tim Floyd was the head coach at the University of New Orleans. Floyds’ sixth man act infuriated fans around the league and kept the Privateers near the top of the standings each year.

Jay, you've outdone yourself. That's about as absurd a statement as I can remember reading. The location of a coach's feet with relation to the "coach's box" was responsible for a team's success? Seriously? Marty Fletcher would flop around on the floor like he was being electrocuted. Why weren't his uber-talented Cajuns ever at the top of those same standings then?

LOL!! Hilarious. As I just posted, Marty Fletcher was every bit as animated as Floyd, if not more so.

It's funny...when a guy COMPLETELY DOMINATES your favorite program over a six year period you tend to remember him as being some evil cheating scumbag. Meanwhile, Cajun fans probably think of Joey Steibing as a swell guy who was a good sport. I'm sure that has nothing to do with their dominance over him. Funny how that works.

I would do anything to have those Marty Fletcher teams back!
