stAte has started phase one of facility upgrades
I hadn't seen this posted yet so I figured I would do it. ASU broke ground on an indoor practice facility. This new facility will cost around $11 million.

If someone knows how could you post a picture of what the new facility will look like?

It is a practice facility. They will open it for intramurals and other teams when it isn't being used by the football team.

The next phase that is probably a year behind is a new football complex and seating and concessions in the north endzone where the pracitice facility will be built.

There will also be a new videoboard soon (possibly by this season) and plans are being developed to utilize a $5 million gift to upgrade the pressbox.

A request for proposals was sent out for a hotel and convention center at the site of our old track just south of the football stadium. Not sure on the timeline for that.

No. It is an indoor practice facility that will be used by all sports to practice in. It is being built on the north end of the stadium. The next phase will be an athletic complex.

Jealous. I wish Troy would hurry up and break ground on our end zone facility and also build an indoor practice facility. Now that the softball renovation is winding up, and seeing our normal rotation of renovations, I suspect our football stadium will be next.

I suspect once this is done and the new press box is done and the new offices, locker rooms, training facility is done, the next project will be a softball field.

Petrino cried about how we did not have a indoor practice facility...Instead of expanding the stadium I would like to see WKU add an indoor practice facility as well as redo the press box which is from the 60's...

Which part/phase? Just the indoor practice facility?

Just the indoor facility. No time frame on the complex or press box yet.

No doubt...and after having one of our guys getting zapped by lightning this past summer, probably not a bad idea, too.

We already have the funds for press box. Wonder when we'll get a date.

Design isn't back for press box yet but safest bet is they demolish the current one immediately after the final game this season.

That photo of the facility is kinda confusing. You're looking at the backside of the facility, with the stadium behind it.

Here's the front view...from inside the stadium.

Isn't that current pressbox an integral part of the upper decks?

That is the old Malzahn design of the football ops and practice facility.

This video offers a more current look.

Doesn't appear to be load bearing from this pic:
