Wow. Solid hire, if true. Wonder what they are paying to get him out of retirement.

The Fridge would certainly lend credibility to the idea that Julie Hermann was financially hogtied at the end of last season. This would be in terms of firing everyone without a stitch of conference revenue coming in since before we announced for the Big Ten. Hiring a credible OC like this would lend some credibility to at least somewhat understanding what it's going to take to compete in the Big Ten.

I have never been worried about Rutgers desire or capability to compete with the rest of the Big Ten. What would have been the point of going all out on hiring in order to compete in the Big East/AAC? A move to the Big Ten though means stepping up and that means big hires. As a potential coach thinking about taking a job at Rutgers, what isn't there to love? Strong recruiting home ground, huge buzz in the fan base about the program, massive potential in terms of where the school is located. Rutgers is a honeypot just sitting there and waiting for a bear to stick it's paw in.

Oh BOY!! Another former Maryland coach that we get to go against! I'm starting to think that there is a conspiracy…
