We didn't play defense. USF wants to shoot inside? We'll let them walk in and score. USF wants to kick it back outside for a 3? We won't follow and let it be an open shot. And we didn't rebound. Got whipped on the boards. And we turned it over far too much. Horrible performance by SMU all around and the team got a loss just as they deserved. Credit USF - they took advantage and forced SMU into some mistakes and knocked their shots down down the stretch. They did what it takes to win.

Good win for USF. But the conference really needed SMU to win.

Unfortunately, this is how it is for road games in conference. They will always be difficult to get no matter the opponent. Especially for a team like SMU, who took a big step up in competition this year and may not be used to the constant awareness and effort it takes to consistently get up for every game.

I'm talking about having to constantly play good competition and not just one team with a pulse. C-USA has been a joke in basketball for 10 years now. Playing USF on the road is different by itself than if you were to play them after playing UConn and right before you played UC.

I don't get it. USF just lost by 39 at home last week.

Difference. We didn't play a team that pressed us full court all game.
