My other school Santa Clara U is ranked #2 for Western regional school and #12 for part-time MBA in the nation.

Don't know about the other football schools but the one above improved from previous year.

That means that no one in the Big East is lower then 3rd tier? That's a pretty impressive academic conference. . .

In our defense, it is likely that UCF will go back to tier 3 in next year's rankings. That is based upon an article which stated that UCF had a high admission rate for the year considered in this report (something like 55% to 60%) but that our admission rate for the next period under consideration dropped to 45% or so and therefore we'll jump back in the ratings next year. Ho-hum.

Here's a front page article from the Sentinel the other day on how hard it is getting just to get accepted into UCF.

Record applications for enrollment (24,000 plus), highest SAT Freshmen Profile (1190), and more selectivity (only 46% accepted), have made UCF a very tough place to get into for graduating HS Seniors.

UCF was tier 3 last year...excuse given for this year's drop is for delayed paperwork about admissions is to blame for drop from tier 3 last year...but with UCF's admissions standards rising again this fall (scores used for next year's US World News rankings), UCF will/should be back in tier 3.

Reputation, Legacy, History, and Endowment.

Those are reached usually by those schools that have been around for 100-200 plus years.

Even though UCF is the youngest "large" university in the Nation (school over 40,000 students and first classes weren't held till 1968), it will be decades, even with great success, for UCF to achieve a real high level with the more "traditional" schools.

UCF's high popularity amongst FLA High School Seniors...plus UCF's new Medical School, will help set up UCF for a great, proud future, so it can achieve its #1 goal (aka Large Metropolitian Research University with focus on Undergraduate/Graduate studies).
