Yes. Women view men as a source of income.

Yes, but I believe that it's largely unintentional.

Agreed. A certain amount of it is in our DNA so to speak. Men are the providers, women the caretakers... That sort of thing. I do not believe it is prevalent in our society or detrimental in the way that race issues and other social topics are.

Fewer men in college, fewer with degrees, fewer in advanced degrees and still there is a preference by schools to enroll women over men..

Yes there is sexism in America..

Yes, there is to some extent, but for the most part, I think we do better with equality than the vast majority of the rest of the world.

I also believe that women and men are vastly different, in ways other than genetics/organs.

No, America is too busy hating black people and gays. Just ask Holder and Obama. Those evil white people are too blame.

As a woman....I *HATE* that. I don't have any kids but I think it sucks that on sitcoms the dad role is always reduced to him being a moron that the mom is stuck cleaning up after. Even in shows with no kids, like King of Queens it's the same thing.

Saturday morning, the smokin' hot Mrs. Smaug and I went to some fast food joint for breakfast. She got in line, while I had to go pee. By the time I got back she had advanced to the counter, placed, and paid for our order. The cashier (a teenage girl) tried to hand me the change.

As long as there are breasts, there will be sexism.

I've always wondered if lesbians get turned on by big t!ts?

RE: Is there still sexism in America?
The 'dumb husband' isn't some conspiracy, it's just a simple trope that was stolen off of those who properly understood how to utilize it and is now used by those who don't. It's a sign of simple writing and corporations putting out mediocre products because they're worried about doing the safe thing instead of innovating. Luckily, there's a lot more stations out there now and a lot of those are putting out amazing television.

There is every type of "ism" out there but all that matters is people don't act on them to hurt others then there isn't a problem.

Are there still people that watch network sitcoms and commercials?

I guess there is still a market for that. I watched Cheers, and Seinfeld sometimes, but that was 20 years ago.

RE: Is there still sexism in America?
There are a few decent network Sitcoms, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, Community come to mind, but the best television is way off the beaten path on FX or HBO/Showtime/Netflix.
