did you actually read anything or just jumped in..
i never said anything about being cream of the crop, i never said anything about winning the league or about how next season will go.

i was talking about "preseason favorites" that all the top teams lose a lot (in relation to key players) and houston all but losses no one, that all our conference losses were by a possession .. that im surprised that houston isnt "the preseason favorite"
Nothing surprising about it. You lost 5 games and beat no teams with a winning record. Gotta prove you can win the conference before people will anoint you favorite.

Same noise every year. A select group of Coog fans thump their chests in the offseason, followed by excuses for why God conspired against them. I really think UH's program will do well this season, but not because their fans are "hard selling" the program. Just relax a bit. Till Houston proves it in the win column, all of this is conjecture. And no, I won't speculate on UCF either. It will all be proven on the field.

BTW, happy that ECU is back on the schedule. 04-cheers

Man, I won't touch that, except to say that garbage conference was our home for a few seasons. Try to remember our roots please.

yep it was our home and then all the best teams left it. We were in the Atlantic sun a long time for hoops, wanna tell me it isn't a garbage conference?

Maybe a little harsh, point being those are not marquee football wins. And certainly not enough to rank Houston as a prohibitive preseason favorite.

Not the best, no, but I don't believe in being disrespectful for just the sake of bloviating our own importance. I believe the players and fans of those programs root just as hard for themselves, as we do ours. So yes, a bit harsh. Rice is a fine program, and UTSA is unknown to me, but there's a reason they got an invite.

One thing about the "internetization" of college football fanbases is that we seem to have lost our mutual respect for any university that we compete against. It's digressed into insult competitions, trolling, and general disrespect. I just wish it could return to the old days of people inviting opposing fans into your tailgate, and celebrating the opportunity to compete. Old fashioned probably, but it sure was a lot more fun, and nobody had to get hurt by it.

ecu might not be but can't really speak to it. Just my opinion. Your logic is Houston should be obvious favorites. They lost 5 games and beat no one of substance. Can't put them as favorites over ucf or Cinci who both return a majority of starters.

Way to generalize. UH's attendance was expected to be poor this past season, due to the stadium issue. Cheap shot I agree. Next year will be a good year for the Coogs, in their new stadium. Please try to be specific about which UCF fans are "haters".

No, we just don't like being goaded, returning the vast majority of our team, after winning a BCS bowl, something no one else in the future conference can attest to.

I'm on the record here saying that the top 3 will be UH / Cinci / UCF, followed by ECU. You're the one getting all huffy puffy about not giving Houston their due respect, which apparently won't be satisfied till we leave our (UCF's) American Championship Trophy at your feet.

This.

Houston fan is losing his mind that no one is putting the coogs as the favorites to win the conference. Sorry you have to prove it on the field before you can chirp about it off the field.
