Yep. And I know, it costs $$$, but a bigger video board would be great. Like the Mud Hens have where the whole thing is a video board, but you can also use part of it (like the bottom on sides) as the scoreboard.

I did hear a new sore board is being put up next year. From one end of Larimar Building to the other. From good source.

Good things come to those who wait. I don't mind waiting one more year for a new scoreboard, especially if it's going to be one of that size.

Interesting. I asked O'Brien when the Larimer renovations were announced about a new scoreboard. He said there was nothing wrong with the current one.

Sounds like he didn't tell you that we weren't getting a new one, he just said nothing was wrong with the current one. A little bot of semantics w/ MOB? 03-wink

If you look at pic 16 of 17 in the slide show you will see that their is no new steel going into the building to support a new scoreboard that I see. I think that a new scoreboard is on the same horizon as new east grandstands.

If I had my choice I would pick better fan services throughout the stadium over a mammoth scoreboard

Do you care to expand on that a little? I'm just curious as to what you think would make the game day experience better for fans.

Better concession access on the east side for one. Of course that is probably part of a bigger renovation

How about a wifi port

Well I guess we will have to wait and see.

A complete renovation of the east upper deck should be a priority. If $$$ is an issue, then at least spruce it up (painting exposed beams, power washing, etc...). Relocation of the 3 light standards would help. Make the lights match up with what is on top of the press tower. Compared to other MAC stadiums, present lighting in the Glass Bowl is sub-standard.

It's not that the scoreboard needs to be larger, but the video part of it is getting to be outdated and too small compared to other stadiums. Also, there is nothing in the Larimer prints for a new board or supports for one.

(for those that don't know, I have a set of the Civil Prints because I bid on the site work for the project.)

FAU's 30,000 seat stadium's board is a Daktronic's 30x50, 1.8 million LEDS for a 600x1008 resolution.Their lighting is 160 fixtures on 8 posts and 2 atop the press tower using Qualite's high efficiency 2000 International Series.

Unfortunately, the video board we have now isnt' that old. We probably won't see another one very soon.

AWESOME photos!! it sorta reminds me of the end of the field clemson comes out of and down a hill very cool if the rockets come out of a tunnel or something behind the goal post and onto the field. so much possibility to be had with that stadium and im glad they're finally doing something.

Glad to do it. I'll try to get some in another month. Probably won't be able to get into stadium, though, unless I just happen to luck out.
