The Tea Party was a reaction to the September 2008 bailouts more than anything. Whether Obama or Hillary or McCain had been elected in November, the Tea Party movement was already under way. The "stimulus" and the move toward ObamaCare was fuel to the fire.

As much of a coincidence as the NAACP becoming popular after the 23rd white president was elected, or the as much of a coincidence as the Black Panthers becoming popular after the 32nd white president was elected, or the New Black Panther Party becoming popular during H Bush's presidency...
