Of course he would say that, because he never ansered the phone, so UCF put it out to the papers. USF never had any intention of pickup up difficult teams, remember, Jim Leavitt went to the Kansas State school of scheduleing as well.
Quote:It was also refuted by Syracuse's AD at the time, Jake Crouthel (sp?) who deadpanned, "Why would let Central Florida make schedule changes for Syracuse", or something to that effect.
Actually you are wrong on this one, UCF did contact Cuse and the Cusa AD said he would be willing to listen if USF came to the table, we all know that USF did not because they have phone issues.
Those conversations never happened other than in the newspapers. I believe it was John Marseni (sp?) who did all the talking. Why would LRS want to talk to an underling like Marseni instead of an ahthletic director? Athletic directors don't return call from underlings.
The bottom line was that UCF was trying to take advantage of USF's scheduling woes in order to force USF into a game with the Knights. You know and I know it. USF got screwed out of bowl game by Baylor and EMU. The 'CUSE game mystery offer was never anything more than newpaper copy.
Furthermore, why USF want to associate with such a low class program under Krapchek and Sloan/McDowell? Your last coach was an a$shole and had no clue about how to run a major division I-A program.
Remember this quote:
--------------------------------
UCF coach Mike Kruczek believes the game "definitely" should be played.
"South Florida has a young program; we're somewhat ahead of them," Kruczek said. "We've played much greater competition. If we were to play and beat them, I don't know that we'd run around bragging about it. It would be just another win for us.
--------------------------------
Did you think it was a coincidence that the moment Sloan was replaced by Orsini, that LRS and him worked out an agreement to play a series after Orsini was on the job for just a few months?
USF was never going to be told who to play or what to do? So in reference to that "Syracuse offer" what would make you ever think that was anything more than a Public Relations ruse?

Right......Hill was the only person in America who was dating an underclassman. Your such a tool.....
So, you're saying it is ok for 19 year olds to act as predators with 16 year olds....You would think he is scum if he didn't wear a bulls jersey.

Its not like we replaced Baylor with Charleston Southern or Nicholas State.
If Baylor would have not cancelled their return game at the last minute, USF wouldn't have played Charleston Southern.
If EMU wouldn't have cancelled at the last minute as well USF wouldn't have played Nichols State.
UCF offered USF us at your stadium and Cuse on the road... U took 2 1aa teams instead... and those teams didnt even qualify as 1aa wins toward a bowl... and if my memory is correct U ended up with a winning record... but were not bowl eligible..
