AState losing OC Walt Bell
Has accepted the Offensive Coordinator job at Maryland. All reports is he's getting a huge raise.

Today will be his last game.

He seemed to be in a hurry. Good luck to him.

That's interesting. Didn't see that on the horizon.

RE: AState losing OC Walt Bell
I'm not fully surprised. Maryland will pay more than ULM could, and would give him an opportunity to prove himself at a P5 league.

i'll be curious to see how we replace him. This is Blake Anderson's offense, and we already have a Co OC. He might just promote from within.

Either that, or we'll try and take Heckendorf back from UNC. I think a lot of this will come down to whether Paschal stays or goes with him. They are brothers.

I don't see Walt being able to bring his crew like he would have done at Monroe.

I tend to agree, but Maryland is hiring a brand new staff entirely, so it's not like they don't have openings.

Maryland has a boat load of cash as they and Rutgers continue to get more BIG10 Network each year until I believe 2018 when they receive the full allotment which is 22 million I believe

AState if still officially not acknowledging anything, but my guess that's because we don't want distractions before the game. We'll see.

Well, now we know why he took himself out of the running for the HC job at ULM at the last minute. He must have gotten a call from Maryland that Wednesday night after making it to the final two contenders (Viator being the other one).

It's interesting that he would still turn down an FBS coaching job to stay an OC though.

RE: AState losing OC Walt Bell
For the record, we get about 75K back because of this. Bell has to pay his buyout on his contract, and he forfeits his bowl bonus.
