Question for Memphis bball fans...
SO...

I am a huge Charlotte Bobcats fan. We just lost Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for 4-6 weeks with a broken hand... and Jeff Taylor has been dinged up.

As a result... the Cats have just called up Chris Douglas-Roberts from the D-League. What can I expect from him?

Saw that in person. Let me say folks were talking about that in concession and restroom lines...where I spent most of my time...pregnant, not fat with a weak bladder. 03-lmfao

Dude is a beast but his problem in the NBA is he doesn't seem to always get along with everyone so he never sticks with a team for too long. But there's a reason his nickname is "Buckets".

RE: Question for Memphis bball fans...
Just an average fan's observations........
-Talented and plays within his limits
-Really good driving to the lane and dropping in a floater from 5-10 feet
-Good, not great outside shot
-Great finesse player, but when he was here, he was fairly slightly built for inside play and could be out muscled offensively/defensively around the basket. He may have gained some bulk, I haven't seen him play in a couple of years.
-Really surprised that he's had some issues with management, he was a true team player and (as far as I know) a model citizen here.

The Charlotte Observer already has an article about CDR & MKG's relationship. Some good stuff.

CDR & MKG = BFF?

RE: Question for Memphis bball fans...
THANK YOU, Memphis for sending us CDR!!!

He hit an awesome buzzer beater last night that capped off a big comeback win for my Bobcats! This guy has flat out produced from the moment he arrived in Charlotte. I hope we can lock him up for a few years, because he's the spark (along with Gary Neal) off the bench that we need!

RE: Question for Memphis bball fans...
Interesting lack of responses... I for one know if any former ECU athlete in ANY sport was making waves in a professional league, ECU fans would be all over it. Perhaps sustained success breeds apathy at Memphis?

He's getting plenty of praise on the Tiger board. CDR has become THE fan favorite for most of the younger generation fans.

Glad he's putting it down for you guys.

No... I just find it interesting to see that the Memphis fans on this board part ways with their athletes once they're no longer at Memphis. Or so it seems.

Or maybe they limit their discussions here to league stuff?

Like I said, there are two threads on him right now on our board.

We don't own them or anything...I seem to notice former players donating millions of dollars (11 million between Laurie and Hardaway) attending games and wearing Tiger gear.

I'll try to care when they are the Hornets again, but I tried caring about the Bobcats but couldn't. I guess I'm just not an NBA guy.

You have completely missed my point... but that's not surprising. 03-banghead

I said that Memphis fans ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD seem disinterested in their former players. Where did I say that the university does that? Where did I say that your former players don't give back?
