TXState will end up being a 'payback' game for us, so I give GSU at punchers chance in that fight. Haven't seen enough of the other teams to make an educated guess about the rest of the games.

I don't know, their incumbent starter threw 4 TDs and 9 picks in 9 games. I think you could see McClendon by game 3. I hope you beat them, I hate State so much.

Talking about TXState? Or NCState?

Sorry, I'm used to just saying State. I'm talking NC State. McClendon is that QB commit.

Ah. I'm hoping for some carry-over momentum from the FLorida win, in conjunction with being healthy and having our beast #1 RB back. Can't believe how banged up Swope has been.

Is it true he's never played against App?

If so, that explains SOME of our struggles against them lately.

It is true. We have definitely been lucky from that standpoint.

We play NC State to start the season. So they're going to have a lot of question marks to answer, cause their team this year has been pretty terrible.

This, except I'd favor Navy. I guess if anyone would know how to defend against the triple option, GaSo would. But so will Navy and GT. Those first two games should be interesting.

The schedule listed there isn't in order. We open with NC State, then Savannah State, then GT. Navy is in late November.

Ah, that changes things a little. I was thinking the OOC games were listed in order.

Haha, sorry. I gotta get used to having all these "States" in our conference. I'm used to State meaning NC State, and that being understood on most message boards I'm on.

It's a change, that's for sure.

Where I'm at, Tech is Texas Tech (there's no talk of Georgia Tech or Louisiana Tech).

UT is Texas (I honestly had no idea that Tennessee referred to themselves as UT).

And some folks in our area, call us state, but round here, that's usually Arkansas State they are referring to.

I chalked it up to "welcome to the national stage, you're no longer just a regional... or state show anymore".

They won our last meeting in 2010 during Monken's first year as a head coach. 14-7. I think we will be a much better team next year than we were in 2010.

Come on now, seriously. You think GaSo will beat App State next year?

Why would anyone think App would win that game?

They probably saw this year's GaSo -vs- App State game.

I think Georgia Southern and App State will be fine.

I wouldn't be surprised to a season similar to what USA had this year. Some close, frustrating losses coupled with some encouraging breakthroughs.

Exactly what i'm expecting. My "Goal" is to hit .500 or better at the end of the season.

These are my expectations. Wins some we weren't and make some noise coupled with some games we should have won, but them them slip through our hands.

vs Navy .6
at GATECH .35
at NCSU .5
vs SSU 1.0
vs Troy .4
vs Idaho .75
vs ULM .4
vs App State .5
at NMSU .75
at South Alabama .55
at GSU .8
at TXST .45

3 wins is probably your baseline. Idaho, Savannah State, and Appy (at home). Reach perhaps to beat NMSU and GSU to reach 5.

My guess would be 2-5 wins, with 3 being the most likely result. Its a lot harder when you step up. Teams have more depth and are faster than you are. And its a lot easier to get up for one big game than to do it 12 times.

NC State is bad, but they're a lot bigger than you. And you're on the road. 50-50 is optimistic. I'm not sure its realistic to think that you'd be a favorite at USA. We will have to see about how good NMSU is.

Your schedule is manageable. But you will be lacking depth in the 4th quarter.

RE: For non-Ga. Southern fans what would you predict for us next year?
Thanks for the input guys (and gals). I am interested to see what others think. So we have anywhere from 9 wins from 1 Troy fan to 3-4 from a number of other fans. I believe we go 6-6 next year with the following wins -- Savannah St., Idaho, Georgia St., ULM, App, and New Mexico St. That would put us a 6-6, 5-3 in SBC. Maybe I am a little over on the conference wins.

To me a 4-4 conference record is a very good year and a 6-6 or better overall is a very good overall next year.

Keep the predictions coming.
