Another positive for AAC fans
If this season were played again next year, we would be in the access bowl. I don't see anyone taking it away from the AAC next year unless we fall apart from parity. Fresno loses their QB and has USC, Nebraska, and Utah OOC, no way they are going undefeated through that. Boise just lost their coach. NIU just lost their QB, BGSU just lost their coach. Ball State lost their QB.

Even if we have a 1, maybe even a 2 loss team with good OOC wins, I think we should be able to get into the Access bowl. The future is looking bright.

Wonder if UC and UCF will play next year in conference? With no championship game and 11 schools in the league each school will NOT play TWO opponents so the chances of two undefeated in conference play or multiple one loss teams are highly likely.
Very interesting to see when they announce the 2014 match ups

With SOS being so important going forward, if we get Tulane and Tulsa instead of UCF and ECU, I might kick a puppy.

I think we need ECU to go undefeated in league play but that's just my opinion.

If the league is smart it would make sure that the schools they expect to be in the top four next year miss at least one of the other and that way hedge your bets on having two or three going 7-1 or better in conference play

I agree. It doesn't need to be UCF. As long as we have one undefeated team and as many 1 loss teams as possible, the conference will be fine.

We need HOUSTON to go undefeated in conference next season.

In reality, as I've said before, we need UCF, Cincy and Houston to dominate the league again next year, along with East Carolina. Those core football schools need to be our version of what TCU, Utah, BYU and Air Force were to the old MWC, although I think it won't be long until USF joins the fray.

HOUSTON is who needs to go undefeated. Our true Air Raid will fully return next season and O'Korn will have an entire year under his belt in addition to an entire Spring and offseason conditioning.

We will by far be the most complete team.

I do agree with this. We need certain schools to always be at the top to build that profile. While I agree on the teams you chose, it could be any set of four...as long as they are consistently dominant year in and year out. Down years for one of those top four would need to be 7-8 win seasons at worst.

I think USF could be a 6 win and bowl team next year and it would be 2015 before we are contending for title.

If we pulled that off forget the access bowl we'd have a real shot at the playoff.

Non-conf schedules will go a long way to dictate if any AAC can run the table (easier schedule...greater chance of reaching that goal).

Quick look at some of the 2014 non-conf schedules: (some may already be updated vs whats posted below)

UCF
vs Penn State (Dublin, Ireland)
FIU
at Missouri
BYU

ECU
at South Carolina
NORTH CAROLINA
at Va Tech
TBA

Cinci
TOLEDO
MIAMI,OH
at Ohio State
at Miami

Houston
UTSA
at BYU
(only 2 games I could find)

USF
Div I-AA WESTERN CAROLINA
MARYLAND
NC STATE
at Wisconsin

I think a LOT of AAC teams are going to be tough in the near future. My biggest fear is too much parity. We had better kick a$$ OOC or the strength won't be considered by pollsters.
