If you are trying to wish what's best for the conference, you're doing it wrong.

I want every bowl dollar possible to stay in the AAC...doesn't bowl money stay behind too?

Here's something to consider: The conference pays a bonus to the participant in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl that is more than twice what the conference earns from that bowl in revenue. While it would be a lost revenue opportunity for one conference team (and that is questionable given how poorly SMU travels - they'd be lucky to break even, including the participation bonus), the rest of the conference would actually make less money if SMU is sent to that bowl.

Notre Dame has agreed to play Boise St. in either San Diego or Hawai'i.

If Notre Dame doesn't head to the Pinstripe Bowl, then my gut feeling is that Syracuse or Boston College will be selected. Syracuse has played in the bowl 2 of the last 3 years but they might bring more fans than BC.

It is interesting(???) that representatives of the Russell Athletic Bowl were on hand last night for the UC-UL game, but to my knowledge NO representatives from the Belk were on hand.

Something just doesn't feel right to me. I think UC gets screwed over yet again.

Louisville will receive NCAA distributions and bowl payout this year from the American per their settlement agreement (see section 5.2).
