That would be great but I'm still not convinced that Tulane will go to NOB. They could end up in Hawaii

That may be true the other options for CUSA instead of Tulane would be Middle Tenn, North Texas or UTSA but I can't see the New Orleans Bowl wanting any of those over Tulane.

RE: My Bowl Predictions
There's no chance in hell WKU goes bowling this year. At least we had our 15th winning season out of the last 18 years this year. We've been Bowl eligible three years in a row now in only 5 years as a FBS program. We'll have to wait until we get to CUSA to go Bowling.

Miss St closed one of the at large slots last night, but I still think there's a very good chance the SBC can get 4 in.

UTSA isn't going to a bowl. Rice a much better matchup in NO, if they don't win conf championship.

I think WKU will have to beat stAte and have Troy and USA lose to get a bowl bid. If Troy and USA don't get eligible, then you are competing against Tx. St. for a bowl bid.

RE: My Bowl Predictions
I agree on the New Orleans Bowl. I think that if Tulane is there, the Cajuns won't be and if the Cajuns are there, Tulane won't be. Neither university wants to play the other at this point.
I also suspect that the New Orleans Bowl would ditch the Wave in a heartbeat if it meant securing Cajun faithful.
IMHO, Rice would be the best matchup for the Cajuns in the New Orleans Bowl versus former Belt members.
If North Carolina ends up being invited to the Independence Bowl, I also see that as a matchup that would really interest Hud.

Trying not to be a homer. But if Troy wins and wku loses I like our chances at a bowl better than wku.
The people in the athletic department say our chances of getting a bowl if we win today are very good. Even with that ole miss loss last night.

stAte has 0% chance of going to the Advocare 100 Bowl(Independence). There are enough eligible teams from the tie-inns to fill those slots (10 from SEC with MSU victory yesterday). You can bet the house that the Ragin' Cajuns will be in the New Orleans Bowl (99.99% done deal). stAte is still the front runner for the GoDaddy bowl vs the bowls #2 pick from the MAC. WKU will most likely not go bowling this year.

RE: My Bowl Predictions
If Rice beats Tulane on Saturday, Rice will be CUSA West champs and either go to Memphis or Heart of Dallas. If Tulane beats Rice and UNT beats Tulsa there will be a four way tie. UTSA presumably would be out because they aren't bowl eligible. If that is the case Tulane would play the winner of the East and Tulane likely goes to Memphis or Hawaii unless they are assured UL isn't going to New Orleans. If they let UTSA play for the league title, then UTSA and Tulane would be tied after eliminating UNT and Rice and UTSA plays the East champ.

SEC has 10 bowls for 10 teams, but they will place a 2nd in the BCS almost assuredly, meaning Independence comes open.

UTSA plays for the CUSA title if Tulane beats Rice. They are eligible. UTSA fans are in this mindset that the NCAA would have to let them go to a bowl if they won the conference.

So they aren't familiar with the NCAA.

Good point, but that assuming Alabama gets by Auburn tomorrow and also wins the SEC Championship game. They would be favored in both but the opponent will be among the best in the nation for both games.

I suppose there is some possible way the SEC could send only one to the BCS but I don't see it.
Shreveport is short and AState is under consideration there.

It has nothing to do with Bama playing for the national title. If Auburn beats Bama and loses the SEC Title game to Missouri. Missouri goes to the Sugar Bowl, and Bama gets a slot in the Orange Bowl.
Not to mention that both Missouri and Auburn have a strong shot at the National Title game if Ohio State was to lose.

The SEC is going to send 2 to the BCS. If Bama stumbles then someone else will jump into the BCS from the SEC. No way the SEC only sends one.
