ASU is in at Mobile with a win...a loss, and then you have this whole dynamic of would Benson allow WKU to go Mobile.

Point is that the only way the conference places three is if ULL goes to Shreveport. If New Orleans invites without giving Shreveport a chance to invite, then the league would only place two teams...effectively eliminating WKU or ASU.
I don't know what you guys have been hearing, but UL has been contacted by the NO Bowl and asked if we would accept if offered and our administration has said they would. I don't think Indy offered anything beyond interest at this time. Come Saturday should the NO Bowl offer, UL will not be waiting for the Indy Bowl to come back later. If there is anyone to blame, look no further then Shreveport because they have not put anything on the table that could be considered an offer at this time.
Shreveport cannot contractually offer a spot to a Sun Belt team until the SEC officially places a 2nd BCS team. That cant happen until after the league title game.
We literally went through this exact same mess last year when NO jumped the gun on the Cajuns yet again and nearly cost the league a bowl spot. This is why our contracted bowls never work because we have league tied bowls not attempting to help the conference, and messing up other bowls in the process.

No Bowl would not be inviting anyone early, they've invited UL on Nov.22nd and Nov.24th the past two years. Saturday will be Nov.30th, and should UL win, they will not need to wait any longer. They haven't the past two seasons.

Don't blame us, blame the lack of SUN Belt Bowl tie-ins. That sits right in the lap of Mr. Benson. Don't expect UL to sit and wait like Louisiana Tech did last season with no assurances of another bowl invitation. The NO Bowl makes the offer, we will take it. That is the right thing to do for UL and its supporters. That is who are administration works for, not the Sun Belt or the Independence Bowl.

If ull wins saturday the Cajuns are champs. Even if you told New Orleans to wait, you would still be guaranteed a bowl per league rules. Asu told the go daddy to wait last year because we wanted to see if someone else would take us

That is true but the NOB wouldn't have to wait on us they could select another SBC team because the GDB could still select us because they choose second. Therefore if we don't want the GDB we would select the NOB when offered and not wait to see if we could go else where. If we pulled a LaTech all hell would break lose in Lafayette, La.

RE: Crazy Standings
I've said this before and it bears repeating.
With one win in the remaining two games or a loss by AState there is no way that the Cajuns get stuck like La.Tech did.
Per the Sun Belt guidelines posted about a week ago:
If the Cajuns win outright, they have to be placed in a bowl.
If the Cajuns lose one and AState wins at WKU, BOTH AState and UL have to be placed.
Shreveport has contractual obligations it must follow. They cannot official extend an invitation until the SEC notifies them they are released.
You know and I know that the SEC will be one short because they will place two in the BCS but until the SEC is ready to declare that is the case they aren't going to release Shreveport. Now maybe when the BCS poll rolls in on Sunday they might be ready or they may choose to act humble and wait until after BCS selection around noon on Sunday, December 8.
From all I hear, there is little chance the Cajuns won't get an I-Bowl invite if they win out and if the Cajuns aren't willing to wait until December 8 and go ahead and take New Orleans this Saturday or Sunday, Arkansas State looks good for Shreveport with a win Saturday.

As conservative as Dr. Savoie is on such decisions, I just don't see him waiting on until Dec. 8th. He may prove me wrong, but I doubt it.
