Lynch was durable/tough as hell. That was his best quality.

I truly believe that your kind of system is how to win at the MAC level. You have to have a mobile qb with the ability to throw. A qb that can make plays with his feet and his arm. Add in zone read schemes and bam you have a contender.
It's obviously not the same system, but look what Auburn did. I would be running some sort of hurry up with a mobile QB if I was at any level of college football.

I agree, you can pick the variation whether it be the read option stuff or the power qb stuff you guys did more of. Auburn basically ran variations of the triple option and Mahlzon is a genius with making slight adjustments that put the defensive players on their heels or out leveraged. He has done a great job of making the pass the 3rd option in the triple option. The play against Alabama when Marshall threw the ball when the corner stepped up is brilliant. I ran a little of what I call quad option out of the gun with inside veer blocking, the slot would back out and become the pitch man and the outside receiver would sit down at 15 yards against the sideline. Had some good success with it.

Against Toledo two years ago, NIU put up 400+ yards of offense against Toledo in the 3rd quarter pretty much running a version of that play over and over.

I don't mean to turn this into a Fleck thread, but one of the reasons I am partly greatful that Fleck left NIU is because of how much pro style he says he wants to run at Western. Who knows what NIU's offense would have looked like if Fleck was the OC and then head coach.

That's it. I remember that game. Puts the force player in a bind and they block #1 and #2. On that play the OT missed his block on the backer which forced the pass option. That variation forces the dbs to get off blocks and just by alignment they are usually out numbered unless they go man which would put the qb one on one with an alley player in the worst case and running down the seem untouched in the best case.

This is today's college football and it is all about being able to use 11 players in your offense unless you are going to throw the **** out of the ball. Or you are just that much better than everyone else. Which is why I am not a fan of what we are doing on offense right now.

I missed your comment after the video but I basically said the same thing. I am scared to death of the pro style offense unless your Alabama or usc. With cubit he used the spread pass game as his equaliser and when he could also run the ball we were dangerous.

There are two ways to win, especially on Offense:

Be better than who you play, or be different.

If you're going to run "Pro-style" Offense, you have to be better.

Malzahn has a Wing-T background. His Offense is Wing-T principles out of Shotgun but when he has a QB who can he runs Option too.

I want you to write a manual for wmu students who attend sporting events and encourages those who dont to start. Now that would be something.

I would promote the heck out of that book and make it mandatory reading for all incoming freshmen.

2nd. Some of my best college memories are going to Bronco sporting events and feeling part of something. Living in the dorms where a lot of athletes lived also helped with that, they would personally thank you for attending, football, hockey, swimming, hoops, you name it they appreciated the support.

Make it happen.

Seriously.
