UL looking to move up in the polls
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nca...l/3617697/

Quote:Teams moving up in the poll:

1. Mississippi. The Rebels continue to get shockingly little respect in the poll despite netting wins against Vanderbilt, Texas and LSU.

2. Louisiana-Lafayette. The wins are rarely pretty, but the Ragin' Cajuns continue to charge toward a 10-win regular season.

3. Michigan State. Mark Dantonio and Pat Narduzzi can't love Saturday's performance on defense, but the Spartans are 9-1 and eyeballing the Rose Bowl.

Just keep winning, that is all that matters at this time.

Appreciate the props from USA today. Appreciate you noticing.

Being in the top 25 is a real possibility if they just keep winning. An 11-2 record would make them a strong candidate for a number 23-25 spot.

I can't say I am; it was a weak win against an atrocious opponent.

No such thing. That's the equivalent of saying Bama should be bumped from the #1 spot because they were sleep walking in Starkville Saturday night.

8-2... why do Cajun fans hate success???

There is no such thing as a bad win or a good loss. Just keeping winning baby. I'll take a W any day.

Thanks for noticing?

At any rate, good luck with the voters' hearts.

This isn't the SEC and this isn't the top level of the sport.

Who we play matters and how those teams are perceived impact how we are seen in the eyes of voters.

The man mentioned how the Cajuns lost a vote. The reason is because they played only okay against the worst team in college football.

That's just the way it works.

And unless you are an actual voter you are making an assumption.

RE: UL looking to move up in the polls
Top 25 would be nice for the Cajuns and the conference but right now I'm only concerned with the Cajuns and we need to win one more to secure at least a share of the conference so that's my priority. After we win the next two games will I concern myself with a ranking. We are trying to accomplish something we have never done and that's win an outright SBC championship. But thanks for caring hopefully after obtaining our goal we can help out the conference.

I would think that honor should go to Southern Miss

We will have to win 10 games to get that outright championship too. Hopefully we can play up to our ability and not to the level of competition. If we do that we winn our remaining two games handily.

That would be an interesting argument, not to mention game.

Being 0-3 against the FCS earns you 'worst in the country' status in my opinion.

I can see that, I also think potentially having back to back 0-12 seasons puts you in the running as well
