RE: Troy QB 2014
2014 is setting up to be a good year for us (hopefully under a new coaching staff) nice home schedule. and Returning most of the team.

Ive seen Tidwell play a few times this year, Mainly Spring ball. and Savannah State. But We will be fine at QB I think.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you have discovered the traditional AT thread discussing how good Troy will be next year. This is the 3rd consecutive year for this wonderful thread.

Actually I did not make one for this year...

We had very little returning starters from last year, and a New DC. I kept my mouth shut

After 2011 I thought we would be very good, and we were close to it.

Yes, but you did talk at multiple times about how good Troy would be.

Is your pick this year assuming Blakeney is or is not on the sideline next season?

I just wanted to post a thread about our QB since, I believe someone on here asked who was going to be our new QB....This is a video of who we will probably go with.

As far as being VERY good next year. Who who's. We have the talent coming back to make it a Bowl season easily, But who the heck knows.

I think you will see a Coach Maestri like exit this year. Larry will announce his retirement at the end of the final game, Whether thats after Texas State or after a bowl game.

Come on everyone leave Atlanta Trojan alone, he is one of the fans we picked up on the side of the road, he is doing the best he can.

RE: Troy QB 2014
AT definitely said pre-season that Troy would contend and be top 2-3. He told me personally several times too but posted here I know. If I have time tomorrow I might look.

If you remember, he kept saying they were bringing back the Dead Bolt defense and mentioned how they lost so many close games last year.

Please don't take the words from ATL as something all Troy fans believe. He is an optimist and sometimes borderline kool-aid drinker. That being said all fans of any team are always going to hope their team to does well.

RE: Troy QB 2014
Troy was a catch/play away from beating the top teams in the Sun Belt this year, even with the worst defense in the nation. Troy lost to ASU and Duke (which just hammered Miami) by 7. Troy had the ball and the tying TD pass was dropped on the last play. Troy lost 37-49 to ULM, but it was a 5-point game late (Troy had a chance to take the lead, down by 5, late in the fourth). Against ULL, Troy's Eric Thomas dropped the winning TD pass to essentially end the game, with Troy down by 5.

The Troy offense is not the problem, although it has become very predictable. Troy's passing ranks No. 14 and the Trojans have two fantastic RBs coming back next season. Troy is fine with receivers.

Any improvement in defense would have been enough this year for Troy to have won this conference. Instead, the D regressed, horribly - at least in the D backfield. None of us could have predicted how bad the defense could become. The line and backers did make improvements.
